Dr. Charity Muraguri, representing the chairman of the board, addressed attendees about the current status of mental health facilities in our country. She noted that 34 counties have access to psychiatrists and some mental health services, which is a positive step forward.
However, Dr. Muraguri emphasized the need for more progress. She urged the ministry to prioritize the establishment of mental health and substance abuse facilities in every county, ensuring that care is accessible to all. By expanding these resources, we can create a supportive environment for individuals facing mental health challenges and reduce the stigma surrounding these issues.
