President Hakainde Hichilema Attends Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi and Departs for Lusaka
The President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema, yesterday on Day Two of the Africa Forward Summit held in Nairobi, Republic of Kenya, continued to actively engage in high-level deliberations aimed at advancing Africa’s economic transformation, regional integration, and sustainable development.
During the proceedings, President Hichilema participated in key sessions alongside fellow African Heads of State, government officials, private sector leaders, and international partners. Discussions focused on strengthening intra-African trade, accelerating industrialisation, enhancing investment flows, and fostering innovative solutions to address the continent’s developmental challenges.
On the margins of the summit, President Hichilema held bilateral meetings with various stakeholders, aimed at deepening Zambia’s economic cooperation and exploring new opportunities in trade and investment. These interactions reaffirmed Zambia’s position as a stable and attractive investment destination within the region.
Following the successful conclusion of his participation at the summit, President Hichilema departed Nairobi for Lusaka yesterday at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the President was seen off by Zambian Government officials, officials from the Zambia High Commission in Nairobi, and representatives of the Kenyan Government.

President Hakainde Hichilema Attends 1st Africa–France Summit in Nairobi

President Hakainde Hichilema, arrived in Nairobi yesterday to attend the 1st Africa–France Summit taking place from 11th to 12th June 2026. Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport he was received by the Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Public Service , Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Hon Geofrey Kiringa Ruku from the Republic of Kenya , and the Zambian delegation led by Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation accompanied by Mr. Alfred Musemuna, Zambia’s High Commissioner to Kenya and other Zambian Government high level officials.
Following his arrival, His Excellency met with members of the Zambian community living in Kenya, reaffirming his government’s commitment to engaging with citizens abroad. Later in the evening, President Hichilema attended the State Banquet hosted in honour
of the summit, joining fellow Heads of State and dignitaries.
As the summit continues into Day 2, President Hichilema and the Zambian delegation remain committed to constructive engagement, that will contribute to shared prosperity across Africa.

Lusaka Province minister Sheal Mulyata was also on hand to receive and see off the President who will be in Nairobi to attend the Africa Forward Summit.
