Every bird counts. ๐ฆ๐
On World Migratory Bird Day 2026, we celebrate the remarkable journeys of migratory birds โ and the global cooperation needed to protect them.
Each year, thousands of barn swallows and other migratory birds travel between Norway and Kenya, connecting our countries through nature itself. But migratory bird populations are under growing pressure. New 2026 data show that nearly half of all monitored migratory species are in decline, while many face the threat of extinction.
The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), administered by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), helps bring countries together to protect migratory species and their habitats across borders.๐บ๐ณ๐ณ๐ด
