Kenya is a nation defined by its movement. 🇰🇪
On World Public Transport Day, we celebrate the vast network of operators, SACCOs, and commuters who keep our country turning. Public transport is the backbone of the Kenyan journey—connecting us to our markets, our offices, and our homes.
The Ministry of Roads and Transport recognises that an efficient system requires a strong partnership between the public and private sectors. Our focus is on creating a modernised, safe, and integrated environment where every operator can thrive and every passenger can travel with dignity.
We are working to bring better coordination and reliable infrastructure to the routes you use every day. When our transport systems are organised and efficient, every Kenyan wins.
Public transport is about more than just getting from point A to point B. It’s about the freedom to get on with life, accessing jobs and education, and staying connected to our communities.
From the quiet morning commute to the busy late-night trip home, public transport makes millions of shared and solo journeys possible every single day. It is the heartbeat of our towns and cities, driving economic prosperity and creating a more sustainable, healthier future for everyone.
Tomorrow, we celebrate the critical role public transport plays in our everyday lives and the people who keep us moving.
Public transport moves us all. Happy !
