True conservation often requires navigating the most challenging landscapes. This year, the Rhino Charge tested the limits of competitors amidst the rugged, off-grid terrain of Samburu County.

Operating in the heart of the Samburu bush highlights the literal and figurative uphill battle of wildlife preservation. Thanks to the incredible resilience of the competitors, sponsors, and conservation champions, the 2026 Charge raised an astounding KSh 365 million!

I am deeply honoured by H.E. President William Samoei Ruto recognition of the Rhino Charge as a pivotal partner in preserving Kenya’s critical water towers and fragile ecosystems. Public-private partnerships and community-led initiatives remain the cornerstone of our sustainable conservation.

Under the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife - Kenya , we remain committed to supporting innovative frameworks that protect our natural heritage while driving sustainable development for our communities. Samburu County is one of the cornerstones of our national tourism strategy, offering an unmatched blend of rich cultural heritage and rare biodiversity.

The county is a breathtaking paradise for travellers seeking an authentic, off-the-beaten-path Kenyan safari. Let us keep charging forward for a wilder, more secure, and Magical Kenya! 🇰🇪

After 46 years of silence, the historic Nairobi–Gilgil–Ol Kalou–Nyahururu railway line is officially BACK!

This isn’t just restoring tracks but unlocking a major sustainable tourism corridor, lowering travel costs for Kenyans, and connecting you straight to the majestic Thomson’s Falls.

To build a world-class tourism economy, a solid foundation of world-class infrastructure should be developed. This affordable, eco-friendly rail connection reduces our carbon footprint while opening up incredible economic opportunities for local hospitality, agriculture, and eco-tourism hubs along the Aberdare Highlands. The track to sustainable growth is wide open.

The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife - Kenya appreciates the efforts of this milestone through the unwavering vision and leadership of H.E. President William Samoei Ruto . Under his administration's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the directive to modernize and reclaim our rail networks is breathing fresh life into regions that were historically cut off from major tourism circuits.

The Magical Land of Kenya is transformed and firmly on track 🇰🇪!

This afternoon, i delivered condolence message from H.E President William Samoei Ruto to the family, friends, and the residents of Chakareli Village, Weru Ward in Ol Jooro Orok Constituency, as we bid a final farewell to a remarkable leader and a friend, the late John Thuku Watuthu.

The late Mr. Watuthu was a distinguished career Surveyor, a brilliant businessman, and the foundational pillar behind Joycot General Contractors and Geocast Surveyors. Through his entrepreneurial spirit and professional dedication, he not only built businesses but also created opportunities and inspired many within Nyandarua County and beyond.

We have lost a visionary whose legacy of hard work, integrity, and service to the community will continue to live on.

My deepest condolences and prayers go out to his family and the entire community during this difficult time of grief. May the Almighty God grant you comfort, and may his soul rest in perfect peace.

Hello Ol Kalou,

Today, my heart and my presence are with our neighbors here in Ol Jororok as we lay to rest a beloved member of our community. In moments like these, when we confront the reality of loss, we are starkly reminded of what truly matters: family, community, shared humanity, and the legacy we leave behind. Grief has a way of silencing the noise of the world, forcing us to reflect on our collective responsibilities to one another.

Even as I join the people of Ol Jororok in mourning, my thoughts are also with you, the resilient people of Ol Kalou. I am profoundly moved by the grace, strength, and unwavering maturity you have demonstrated over the recent weeks. As you navigate this critical season of leadership transition, you are setting a standard that resonates far beyond Nyandarua County.

Development can only be realised through focussed leadership !

Honored to join His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto, conservation partners, and the resilient community of Samburu County at the Ngilai Conservancy for the 2026 Rhino Charge!

This year, 65 extraordinary teams tested their grit and navigation across rugged terrain all for a noble cause. A special shout-out to the EV Explorers for leading the charge toward sustainable conservation with their re-engineered electric vehicle.

Over the years, the Rhino Charge has raised over Ksh 2.6 Billion, funding 650 km of electric fences. This has not only protected our critical mountain forests and water towers but has also shielded over 80,000 families from human-wildlife conflict.
Under President Ruto's visionary leadership, the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife remains fully committed to redoubling our efforts to ensure our wildlife and tourism sectors thrive for posterity.

Together, we are protecting our heritage and showcasing Magical Kenya on the global stage as the Origin of Wonder🇰🇪!

Kenya is going AI-first! 🇰🇪✨
Today, the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife - Kenya partnered with Google Kenya to transform our tourism sector through advanced technology.

Following recommendations from our Rebranding Taskforce, we are building a sophisticated digital infrastructure to position Kenya as Africa’s foremost digitally enabled destination. This strategic collaboration will launch a real-time Tourism Pulse Data Hub on Google Cloud, deploy a Gemini-powered AI trip planner for bespoke visitor itineraries, and use precision marketing to target priority global markets.

Crucially, we are launching digital skilling programmes to empower our youth and tourism SMEs, training young local curators on Google Arts & Culture to unlock new employment pathways. We are moving beyond traditional marketing to evidence-based policy to double international arrivals, create tech-enabled jobs, and drive national prosperity.
Thank you, Google Kenya for this worth partnership!
