KeRRA through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program today donated desks and chairs to St. Patrick’s KOYKOY in Transnzoia County. Through this program the authority is partnering with communities to support education apart from road infrastructure.

His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto today launched the upgrading of the 35km Tezo–Kakanjuni–Jaribuni Road to bitumen standard in Kilifi North Constituency, Kilifi.
The project will improve market access for farmers, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance access to essential services such as health facilities and learning institutions.

The Authority, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, today participated in the annual Mater Heart Run held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi county. Staff from HQ, alongside regional teams from Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos, and Murang’a, took part in the event, while Vihiga and Kakamega regional staff participated in the run within their respective counties.The initiative aims to support children living with heart conditions by raising funds for life-saving cardiac treatment.

As part of the Presidential directive and national target of planting 15 billion trees by the year 2032, staff from Kenya Rural Roads Authority Headquarters, in partnership with the Vihiga Region team, today participated in a tree planting exercise at the Maragoli Forest as part of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Through this noble environmental conservation effort, KeRRA has adopted 27 hectares of the Maragoli Forest for rehabilitation and restoration, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable environmental management, climate action and the protection of Kenya’s natural ecosystems for future generations.
The exercise was graced by the Chief Forest Conservator, Vihiga County, Ms. Hellen Sikuku, alongside KeRRA staff and regional stakeholders who joined hands in supporting the government’s ambitious tree growing agenda.
Together, we are building greener communities, restoring our forests and securing a sustainable future one tree at a time.

His Excellency the President today launched the upgrading to Bitumen Standard of Mjanaheri–Ngomeni Road.
Implemented by the Coast Development Authority and supervised by KeRRA, the project will cut travel time, boost trade, spur tourism, and improve access for local communities. A milestone for coastal connectivity and economic growth.

His Excellency the President, Hon. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, launched the upgrading to bitumen standard of the A10 (Showground–Hindi) – Lamu Red Cross Centre – Safirisi – A7 (Ndeu) route and the access roads at Kalume Corner in Lamu West Constituency, Lamu County.
Once complete, the 12 km project is expected to improve accessibility and connectivity to important social amenities, including Safirisi Comprehensive School and Ndeu Comprehensive School (primary and secondary), among others.

The final day of the Science, Technology, Research and Innovation (STRI) for Society Week 2026 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, held from 18th to 22nd May 2026, was successfully concluded today with many curious minds visiting our stand and engaging with the innovations and scientific solutions showcased by KeRRA in advancing sustainable road infrastructure development.
Through research, technology, and innovation, KeRRA continues to play a key role in supporting science-driven approaches that enhance connectivity, promote sustainability, and improve livelihoods across the country.
The event was officially closed by H.E. Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi alongside Principal Secretary for Science, Research and Innovation Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak.
This year’s theme was:
“Igniting Innovation: Bridging Science and Society for Sustainable Development.”

Day 2 of the 1st KIHBT International Research Conference featured insightful discussions on financing, policy, regulatory frameworks, and diversity, equality & inclusivity. Eng. George Chiaji, Director of Research, Strategy & Compliance, represented KeRRA in a panel discussion, sharing perspectives on strengthening sustainable road transport through research and innovation.
KeRRA’s Head of Communications Catherine Butaki, also made a presentation highlighting KeRRA’s work and its alignment with the conference theme of enhancing capacity building and skills development for sustainable road transport.
