Governor Simon Kachapin today joined other governors in attending a two-day sensitization forum on De-Risking, Inclusion and Value Enhancement of Pastoral Economies Project (DRIVE) being implemented in the Horn of Africa.
The aim of the project is to deepen economic integration and promotion of regional cooperation funded by World Bank.
The project, which is being implemented by the State Department for Livestock in partnership with County Governments and other implementing partners will be a game changer in developing the livestock market in West Pokot, Kenya and the Horn of Africa.

Today, a team from Kenya Paediatric Association and their research arm — Kenya Paediatric Research Consortium, paid a called on Governor Simon Kachapin at his official residence.
The team is working on an advocacy project named Championing Evidence Based Advocacy (CEBA) Project, and they will be carrying out advocacy activities on RMNCAH +N Reproductive Maternal Newborn and Child Health Plus Nutrition.
The County Government appreciates their support towards improving the health sector in West Pokot County.

Governor Simon Kachapin today engaged in discussions with representatives from the Central Bank of Kenya to deliberate on areas of partnership for the interests of the local communities.
The discussion centered on possible partnerships in education and environmental sustainability among other issues.
Cooperative Bank Kenya, Eldoret Branch officials, led by Rose Mwenda later presented Governor Simon Kachapin with specimen banknotes memorabilia gift set on behalf of Central Bank Governor of Kenya.

Governor Simon Kachapin has this evening chaired a cabinet meeting at the county headquarters where a myriad of issues were discussed.
The meeting comes a week after the county released bursaries, amounting to Ksh. 435M, to benefit students in secondary schools, universities, colleges and tertiary institutions.
The cabinet discussed a number of projects in the pipeline to be implemented in the coming months under the departments of roads, water, health and education.

Nakuru City today played host to a prayer event in which President Dr. William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua attended.
The prayer rally which was held at Nakuru Athletics club (NAC), brought together the 14 Governors from Rift valley region, and Kenyans of all walks of life to a thanksgiving prayer service for the country.

Governor Simon Kachapin today joined his counterparts and other dignitaries in attending the 9th National and County Coordinating Summit at Enashipai Hotel, Naivasha, Nakuru County.
President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua graced the occasion, which brought together the two levels of governments to discuss timely revenue disbursements and development matters.

Today, a team from the Governor's office led by Kiriam Julius, Sub County Administrator for Pokot North, Felix Puonyang the Ward Administrator for Masol Ward and Samwel Lonyangole, the Riwo Ward Administrator, together with a team from Kapenguria Constituency Member of Parliament's office, led by its Chairman Andrew Kodokwang, Treasurer Joseph Lopetangole and P.A Cosmas (Cisco), went on a benchmarking visit to Kobebe Dam in North East Uganda, Moroto District.
Kobebe dam has a capacity of 2.3 million cubic meters and was constructed by the Government in 2010. It has, over the years provided water to an estimated 9000 pastoralists plus their livestock.
H.E. President Dr. William Ruto is set to work closely with Governor Simon Kachapin, to fulfill his recent promise of supporting the construction of 3 major dams in West County. The dams will boost food production through irrigation of farms and enhance livestock farming in the county.
The 3 dams will be constructed in Kapenguria Constituency, Riwo Ward, Kacheliba Constituency in Alale Ward and Sigor Constituency in Masol Ward.

Governor Simon Kachapin today handed over an ambulance to ELCK Sekerr Dispensary, with a promise to construct a maternity ward in the same dispensary.
Later on, he issued cheques for Sengelel PRI & Nasolot PRI worth half a million each. Speaking to thousands of residents from Seker at Sengelel primary school, Governor Kachapin maintained that he'll see to it that the construction of Sossion road will reach the standard required, adding that his Government had set aside funds that will be used to pay youths who'll be recruited to aid in the construction.
He further urged area residents to turn out in large numbers for the Aug 8th elections.
