As our nation gathers in Wajir County under the theme Education, Skills, and the Future, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry reminds us that a sustainable future depends on securing the planet our children will inherit.

Madaraka means equipping our youth with the green skills needed for the jobs of tomorrow in fields like renewable energy and sustainable agriculture.

Our national goal of growing 15 billion trees is a nationwide lesson in stewardship. By turning schools and communities into conservation nurseries, we provide young Kenyans with tangible skills to restore landscapes and secure resilient livelihoods.

As we honor the patriots who fought for our land, let us safeguard our soil, forests, and air. Let us educate for the future and secure a greener Kenya.

The Ministry of Environment ,Climate Change and Forestry extends its warmest congratulations to Eric Munene from the Ngonyi area of Meru on his thirtieth birthday. The son of Ms Kellen Mwendwa,area local chief chose to mark this major personal milestone not with a conventional celebration, but by planting three thousand trees to protect and restore a vital local water catchment area. This remarkable selfless act directly secures the future of local water sources, enriches the soil, and combats climate change for generations of residents.
Eric demonstrates the profound impact that youthful leadership can have on community resilience. His actions serve as a powerful reminder that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility. The Ministry challenges young people across the nation to look at Eric as a role model and match his dedication. The youth possess the energy and numbers to transform the landscape, and there is no better way to celebrate a personal milestone than by leaving a lasting legacy that breathes life back into our planet.
