Today, I had the opportunity to spend time with the residents of Kongoini in Ndindika, Kinamba, Laikipia West, during a meet and greet that was filled with honest conversations, warmth and a strong sense of community.

Nyinyi ni watu wa nguvu sana. My approach is simple: engage with the people, understand their everyday experiences and allow their priorities to guide the conversation. The people know their needs best.

We have had a candid and successful conversation with traders affected by the proposed construction of Nanyuki-Doldol road by the national government. We have engaged KENHA officials on the most humane way to evict the traders, whose livelihoods now hang in the balance.
Consequently, the eviction notice which expired early this week has since been extended by three more weeks, giving traders ample time to plan. We most sincerely thank the government for listening to our traders and acting in the most dignifying way. Hii barabara ni yetu, na hawa traders ni wetu pia.

Ahsante sana watu wa Kamangura na Kabanga hapa Tigithi Ward kwa heshima yenu. We are determined to sort out water challenges in these areas once and for all.

Today, I was honored to inspect the ongoing drilling and equipping of Kamangura borehole courtesy of State Department for Wildlife. This borehole is expected to serve hundreds of homestead around this areas. Development you can see, touch and feel. My sincere appreciation to Department for Wildlife for heeding to our request agreeing to quench our decades-long thirst.

Your concerns as traders and kiosk operators whose businesses will likely be affected by the ongoing construction of the; Nanyuki–Naibor Junction–Doldol Road project.

I know we support the upgrading of this road.

I understand too, that your businesses are a source of livelihood for your families.

However, KENHA is under obligation to engage with us to find solutions that address our people’s concerns.

I call upon KeNHA and all relevant stakeholders to convene meetings with the affected traders, local leadership and other stakeholders so that a practical and humane way forward can be agreed upon.

Meanwhile, I undertake to continue engaging the relevant authorities on this matter to ensure that your concerns are heard and resolved.

Today, I was privileged to join the faithful of Kalalu Catholic Parish in Umande Ward, Laikipia East, for their Family Sunday celebrations. It was a beautiful opportunity to come together in faith, celebrate the importance of family, and reflect on the values that bind our communities together.

Later, I joined the congregation at AIPCA Church in Solio Village 7, Tigithi Ward, for Sunday service, which culminated in a funds drive towards the completion of their church building. I was humbled by the spirit of generosity and unity demonstrated by the congregation.

May God continue to strengthen our families, bless our churches, and unite our communities in faith, love and service to one another.
