Launch of KIP

The National Anti-Corruption Campaign Secretariat Committee (NACCSC) today participated in the launch of the Kenya Integrity Plan (KIP 2023-2028) as a partner of the Kenya Leadership Integrity Forum(KLIF).
The Plan outlines strategies and actions to be undertaken by both the public and private sectors to enhance integrity in Kenya including an implementation matrix that guides members on the expected output and targets.
The launch was presided over by the Attorney-General of Kenya Hon. Dorcas Oduor, SC, EBS, who gave the Keynote address.
Speaking during the occasion held at the KICC, the AG highlighted some of the key achievements that the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Justice has made in the fight against corruption
She said her office coordinates mutual legal assistance in corruption, economic crimes and criminal matters to leverage on international cooperation for effective investigations, prosecution, adjudication and recovery of assets;
It also undertakes anti-corruption campaigns through the established County Anti-Corruption Oversight Committee in all 47 counties to educate, sensitize and create awareness on corrupt practices with the aim of effecting fundamental change in the attitudes, behaviours and culture among Kenyans;
The office has also developed and published regulations under the Anti-Bribery Act and Guidelines to assist Public and Private Entities in the preparation of Procedures for the Prevention of Bribery and Corruption; and
Development of a Whistle-blower Protection Bill which seeks to among others provide procedures for reporting improper conduct and sets out measures for persons who report improper conduct (whistle-blowers)."
Speakers during the occasion included the Ethics and Anticorruption Commission Chairperson Bishop Dr. David Oginde who reiterated the importance of citizen engagement through public participation.
He said, βthe citizens are key stakeholders in the promotion of good governance through public participation as they demand for transparency and accountability."
The EACC Chief Executive Officer Abdi A. Mohamud called on KLIF partners to effectively prevent and combat corruption in their respective institutions.
Present during the occasion were FCPA Nancy Gathungu Auditor General of Kenya, Hon. Justice Daniel Musinga, President of the Court of Appeal, Mr. Paul Famba, CEO, Public Service Commission, Sheila Masinde, Executive Director, Transparency International (TI), Ms Ash*ta Mittal, Regional Representative, UNODC and Prof. Nicholas Letting, Chairperson, APSEA who are all KLIF partners and Stakeholders committed to supporting the fight against corruption.

NACCSC and GIZ on Tuesday 19th November,2024 held a stakeholder's validation exercise on a draft report of the pilot research/survey on corruption in the implementation of projects and programmes funded by the taxpayer at Starbucks hotel in Eldoret County.
The study focused on three different counties namely; Kisumu, Elgeyo Marakwet and Vihiga where data was collected successfully and the preliminary findings and recommendations will be shared to the public once the exercise is completed.
Present were representatives from the County Commissioners office, County government, opinion shapers, CACCOCS and Transparency international

Ag Director, NACCSC Mrs Evalyne Rono today Monday 18th November ,2024 officially opened a capacity building workshop for members of the Marakwet County Anti-Corruption Civilian Oversight Committee (CACCOCs) at Star bucks hotel in Eldoret.
In her remarks, Mrs Rono appreciated the members for being great campaign ambassadors in their county in the fight against corruption, noting that their role and work as CACCOCS members has informed a number of policies internally and externally.
The participants were enlightened on what is required of them while carrying out Anti-Corruption activities; including detecting and reporting corruption and how to communicate Anti-Corruption messages to the citizens during their sensitization forums.
