We are appealing to the community in Nairobi, especially around the Kilimani area, to help locate Ben Majok, who has been missing since last week. He was last seen near Kilimani Primary School.

His Majesty Reth Kwongo Dak Padiet, King of the Chollo Kingdom Visits the Embassy

โ€‹(19th December, 2025) Today, the Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Kenya had the distinct honor of receiving His Majesty Reth Kwongo Dak Padiet, King of the Chollo (Shilluk) Kingdom, for a courtesy visit.

โ€‹His Majesty was warmly received by the Charge d'Affaires a.i., Amb. Aida Wande Eriminio, alongside the diplomatic staff at the Mission in Nairobi.

โ€‹During the productive meeting, the leadership discussed several vital issues concerning our nation and its people. His Majesty shared profound wisdom on:

โ€‹Unity in the Diaspora: The need for mutual cooperation and harmony among all South Sudanese living abroad.

โ€‹The Power of Education: Emphasizing that education is the foundation for our future generations.

โ€‹Integrity & Reputation: A strong reiteration that we must uphold integrity and protect our individual and collective reputations.

โ€‹Cultural Heritage: The importance of preserving and promoting our rich South Sudanese culture.

The seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-7) took place from 8 to 12 December 2025 at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme โ€œAdvancing Sustainable Solutions for a Resilient Planet.โ€

The Minister of Environment, Hon. Mabior Garang de Mabior, accompanied by the Undersecretary Africano and a national delegation, today attended the UNEA-7 High-Level Segment at the United Nations Office in Nairobi.

During the session, the Hon. Minister delivered South Sudanโ€™s national statement, which focused on the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters driven by climate change. He emphasized the urgent need for international support and financing to enable the implementation of South Sudanโ€™s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP).

Furthermore, South Sudan called upon negotiating committees to expedite efforts toward a legally binding global agreement on plastic pollution, underscoring the importance of collective action to safeguard the environment and promote sustainable development.

Embassy of South Sudan in Kenya to Resume Full Operations

The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Nairobi wishes to inform the public, the South Sudanese community, and all partners in Kenya that normal operations will resume tomorrow, following the successful addressing of internal administrative arrangements that had temporarily affected its services over the past few days.

The Embassy sincerely apologizes to all citizens, clients, and stakeholders for any inconvenience caused by this brief interruption. The temporary closure arose from administrative adjustments which have now been fully addressed through constructive engagement and cooperation with all relevant authorities.

The Embassy deeply appreciates the understanding, patience, and goodwill shown by the South Sudanese community and the general public during this period. As operations resume, the Embassy reaffirms its unwavering commitment to delivering efficient consular services, protecting the interests of South Sudanese citizens, and strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of Kenya.

The Mission further assures all South Sudanese students, businesspersons, travelers, and members of the diaspora that it remains dedicated to promoting their welfare and facilitating diplomatic, consular, and community engagements without further disruption.

The Embassy also extends its sincere appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Kenya for its continued support and partnership, and to the media for their professionalism and understanding.
