Studies have shown that what the brain needs most during the preschool years in order to function optimally later is repetitive play, creativity and security. Child development experts do not advocate for an academic environment for a preschooler. An academic environment provides skills that will easily be learned later.

A preschooler needs A LOT of stimulation. This can be diverse and challenging experiences during free play, exposure to new places and people, walks out in the fresh air, story telling, as well as downtime.
Mwanzo Playclub?
Mwanzo is offering a playgroup for toddlers. Playgroup is an informal gathering where parents and carers get together with their young children for a couple of hours each week to connect, learn through play and most importantly, have fun. Essentially, playgroup is one of the first, and most important social networks for children and families. Mwanzo playgroup is a space that is all about nurturing children by supporting their emotional and social growth (all while having a LOT OF FUN!).
We believe that the first and most important education for any child is their social and emotional development before tackling the intellectual development.
Activities at Playgroup involve craft, indoor and outdoor play, messy play and many more activities all aimed at developing the child socially and emotionally. The carers can learn new ideas for play at home, and share their experiences as they make new friends in a relaxed environment for truly it does take a village to raise a child. Think of Mwanzo as a chance to enhance and grow your village!
