This week, our Programme Officer Natasha Akholi is participating in an educative and informative training while sharing "Anppcan Regional Office" experiences on trauma and violence informed approaches for abused children and children at risk of abuse organized by Restless Development Uganda.
The goal of the trauma and violence informed approaches is to minimize harm to the children we serve whether or not we know their experiences of violence. The approach promotes the well-being and adaptation of abused children and children at risk of abuse. It increases safety, control and resilience of children seeking our services.

The nomadic and pastoralist way of life of the Maasai Community and their proximity to the national border of Kenya/ Tanzania makes many children vulnerable or fall into child labour (herding) and child trafficking.
Last week, "Anppcan Regional Office" sensitized Child Rights Club members from 3 primary schools, Eluanata, Namelok and Oloolaroi on child rights, especially the right to education and the right to be protected from any work that interferes with their education or is harmful to their development.
Regular sensitization forums will be held with Child Rights Club members in the 3 schools to support the learners to understand their rights, especially the right to education and to identify and report any out of school child to designated teachers and community champions who will rescue and reintegrate out of school children in school.
