"On 17th November 2025, several government websites were briefly taken offline following a cybersecurity attack linked to a group identifying itself as 'PCP@Kenya,' prompting an immediate activation of incident response and recovery procedures that have since contained the situation and restored access.

The Government is closely monitoring the systems, strengthening layered defences and urging the public and institutions to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to:

1. National Kenya Computer Incident Response Team and Coordination Centre (National KE-CIRT/CC) via [email protected] or +254 703 042 700 / +254 730 172 700;

2. The National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee (NC4) via [email protected] or +254 716 148 341;

3. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) via the toll-free line 0800 722 203, telephone +254 020 7202000, or [email protected]

The incident amounts to a violation of Kenyan law and offenders will be prosecuted, even as the Government reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding national digital infrastructure and advancing the digital transformation agenda through enhanced capabilities, coordination and collaboration." - Dr. Raymond Omollo

A 37-year-old man, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of defiling a 10-year-old girl, her neighbour, in Songwot village, Kilingot Village, Mukutani area, Tiaty East Sub-County, within Baringo County.

The ruling, delivered at the Kabarnet Law Courts, followed a successful Prosecution led by Counsel Sidney Koech, who presented strong evidence proving the case beyond a reasonable doubt.

The court heard that on 20th December 2024, the victim and her younger brother, aged two years, were left at home by their mother, who had gone to attend a cultural event.

Later that night, while the children were asleep, the accused forced his way into their house.

The girl positively identified him using a spotlight before he kicked it away and violently attacked her. Despite her attempts to raise an alarm, the accused overpowered her and threatened to kill her if she ever revealed what had happened. He then fled into a nearby thicket.

Prosecution called seven witnesses, including the victim. Their testimonies, alongside crucial evidence and medical examination reports, all corroborated the claims brought before the court.

Prosecution, in their sentencing submission, underscored the severity of the offence, and urged the court to hand the accused a harsh sentence.

In delivering the sentence, Hon. C. Ateya emphasized the violent nature of the offence, the psychological trauma inflicted on the child, and the mandatory sentencing provisions under the law.

la , County Chapter

Nandi is among the most peaceful counties, thanks to the close cooperation between security agencies and members of the public.

To consolidate these gains, we are operationalising more administrative units in the county and improving the welfare of our NGAOs and police officers as per our ongoing reforms.

We are also cracking down on rogue businessmen and women selling second-generation alcohol and other drugs, which are ruining our young people’s lives. I have equally put on notice police and other government officers abetting this illicit trade.

To improve our security infrastructure, we are stepping up our collaboration with NG-CDF, even as I laud many MPs who are already helping to put up police stations and administrative offices across the country.

I was joined during our Jukwaa la Usalama forum today by Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, MPs Josses Lelmengit ( Emgwen), Julius Melly (Tinderet), Marianne Kitany (Aldai), Cynthia Muge ( Woman Rep), Bernard Kitur (Nandi Hills) and Zipporah Kering (East African Legislative Assembly).

Others were DIG-APS Gilbert Masengeli, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner Dr. Abdi Hassan, Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati, Regional Administration Police Commander John Amadadi, Nandi County Commissioner Caroline Nzwili and MCAs among other officials. - Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen
