Exciting news! Elephant TWINS have been born in Samburu National Reserve! 🐘 🐘
During the weekend, Bora from the Winds family gave birth to TWO elephant calves. Here is the pair (male and female) at around a day old, exploring their surroundings. Twin births like this are very rare - in fact, we haven’t seen twins in the park in decades!
Congratulations to the eagle eye guides at Elephant Watch Camp who first spotted the twins and alerted our researchers. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the progress of these special little pachyderms.

A story of love and care.
My dad has bees.Today I went to his house and he showed me all of the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off of a 5 gallon bucket full of honey and on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey and drowning. I asked him if we could help them and he said he was sure they wouldn't survive. Casualties of honey collection I suppose.
I asked him again if we could at least get them out and kill them quickly, after all he was the one who taught me to put a suffering animal (or bug) out of its misery. He finally conceded and scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty Chobani yogurt container and put the plastic container outside.
Because he had disrupted the hive with the earlier honey collection, there were bees flying all over outside.
We put the 3 little bees in the container on a bench and left them to their fate. My dad called me out a little while later to show me what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all of their sisters (all of the bees are females) and they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. We came back a short time later and there was only one little bee left in the container. She was still being tended to by her sisters.
When it was time for me to leave we checked one last time and all three of the bees had been cleaned off enough to fly away and the container was empty.
Those three little bees lived because they were surrounded by family and friends who would not give up on them, family and friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness and resolved to help until the last little bee could be set free.
Bee Sisters. Bee Peers. Bee Teammates.
We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.
Bee kind always.

From a distance
The world looks blue and green
And the snow capped mountains white
From a distance
The ocean meets the stream
And the eagle takes to flight
From a distance
There is harmony
And it echoes through the land
It's the voice of hope
It's the voice of peace
It's the voice of every man
From a distance
We all have enough
And no one is in need
And there are no guns,
No bombs, and no disease
No hungry mouths to feed
From a distance
We are instruments
Marching in a common band
Playing songs of hope
Playing songs of peace
They are the songs of every man
God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us
From a distance
From a distance
You look like my friend
Even though we are at war
From a distance
I just cannot comprehend
What all this fighting's for
From a distance
There is harmony
And it echoes through the land
And it's the hope of hopes
It's the love of loves
It's the heart of every man
It's the hope of hopes
It's the love of loves
This is the song for every man
God is watching us
God is watching us
God is watching us
From a distance
Oh, God is watching us
God is watching
God is watching us
From a distance

Youths in Maralal town Samburu County have been trained and mentored with leadership skills to enable them find a solution to problems affecting their communities.
The training was facilitated by officers from International peace initiative under a program dubbed New generation leaders program.
Founder of International Peace initiative Dr Karambu Ringera said that there is a need to have different kind of leadership in communities.
“Everybody has a gift and everyone can lead in that gift that we have, so our invitation is to enable young people to step into the leader that they are today beginning by leading in the gifts that they have,” he said.
Dr Ringera said that older people are stuck on the leadership positions yet they continue to say that youths are leaders of tomorrow.
Mr Leremore Joseph, a youth and resident of Samburu County said training young generation is the only way to combat challenges such as climate change.
He said that government and companies around the world have been blamed for climate change but the communities have done nothing to address the challenge.Youths in Maralal town Samburu County have been trained and mentored with leadership skills to enable them find a solution to problems affecting their communities.

The donkey told the tiger, "The grass is blue."
The tiger replied, "No, the grass is green."
The discussion became heated, and the two decided to submit the issue to arbitration, so they approached the lion.
As they approached the lion on his throne, the donkey started screaming: ′′Your Highness, isn't it true that the grass is blue?"
The lion replied: "If you believe it is true, the grass is blue."
The donkey rushed forward and continued: ′′The tiger disagrees with me, contradicts me and annoys me. Please punish him."
The king then declared: ′′The tiger will be punished with 3 days of silence."
The donkey jumped with joy and went on his way, content and repeating ′′The grass is blue, the grass is blue..."
The tiger asked the lion, "Your Majesty, why have you punished me, after all, the grass is green?"
The lion replied, ′′You've known and seen the grass is green."
The tiger asked, ′′So why do you punish me?"
The lion replied, "That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is degrading for a brave, intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with an ass, and on top of that, you came and bothered me with that question just to validate something you already knew was true!"
The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn't care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on discussions that make no sense. There are people who, for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand. Others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and the only thing that they want is to be right even if they aren’t.
When IGNORANCE SCREAMS, intelligence moves on.

All through November, the heart energy of the planet is on the rise. This is a month to align our heartbeat with the heartbeat of the Earth by working with the energies of the Ta**us Full Moon Lunar Eclipse.
Eclipses represent portals of transformation and awakening. They tend to bring fated events into our lives that help to elevate the evolution and growth of our soul.
This Lunar Eclipse is the first Ta**us Eclipse we have experienced since 2014. It represents the starting point of a new Eclipse cycle which we will see unfold over the months to come.
Eclipses tend to come in pairs, falling in the two opposite signs of the zodiac. This Ta**us Eclipse will be partnered with the Scorpio Eclipses, which we will experience through 2022.
As this Ta**us-Scorpio Eclipse cycle is just beginning to kick off, whatever manifests around the time of this Eclipse is likely to only be part of the story.
Start keeping a journal from now over the course of this Eclipse cycle. Record what themes, patterns, and events are unfolding under these Eclipses so you may have something to look back on as the celestial events go by.
On a collective level, this November Eclipse may highlight the relationships in our lives. This includes our relationship with others, but also our relationship with ourselves and money.
Venus is very active at the time of this Eclipse as it is the natural ruler of Ta**us. Venus rules over all matters of the heart, love, and our finances. Venus also rules over what we value and what we find worthy, so all of these themes have the potential to rise to the surface.
We may also find that attitudes and beliefs that are blocking us from forming deeper and more intimate relationships with others and with ourselves fall away under the energy of this Moon.
Know, you are doing so much better than you think, so be kind to yourself. Remind yourself of all your triumphs and successes, love yourself through whatever has crossed your path, and be kind to yourself.
It’s worth keeping in mind that Eclipses tend to put us where we need to be, so trust in the flow. Try to keep your heart open to allowing whatever needs to come and whatever needs to go.
