Water Companies Sports Organization (WASCO) delegates visited for a consultative meeting on sports matters at CS water, sanitation and irrigation, Eng. Eric Murithi Mugaa. Led by Chair Emily Katambo and Secretary General Mark Werunga, they presented the patron Plaque, and the medal that he won during the 14th Edition. He pledged to support sports and culture within the water sector to foster teamwork, national cohesion, and unity. This year's annual events are scheduled for August 17th to 21st, 2026. The CS indicated that he will attend our AGM scheduled on 31st March 2026.

WASCO PORTAL TO STREAMLINE MANAGEMENT OF 2025 GAMES
Water Companies participating in 2025 WASCO Games will now register players, access fixtures and results through the newly launched portal. This move will bring to an end the tedious process of manual vetting, queuing for fixtures and results as experienced in the past at the secretariat offices during the annual event.
Speaking during the unveiling of the portal, WASCO Secretary General, Mark Werunga, praised the move terming it as revolutionary to the management of sports in WASCO.
“This is momentous for WASCO! I have interacted with the portal and I can confirm that this technology will facilitate a seamless process in management of games,” Mr, Werunga said.
The technology is expected to increasing transparency and accountability while reducing workload involved in dealing more that 3000 participants during the event.

Prepare for TUG OF WAR and BASKETBALL Competitions
Water Companies preparing to participate in the upcoming Annual sports event in Kisii County, can now include basketball and the tag of war teams as WASCO National Governing Council approved the new sports making a total of 24 disciplines.
The resolution was made during the NGC Meeting held in Kisii County. The move is expected to increase participating companies and attract new participants through these sports which have recently gained popularity in the country

WASCO Rejoins ELASCA Games
After a two year break from East African Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association (ELASCA) games, the finest of WASCO national competitions will once again participate in the East African Competitions.
The decision was made during the National Governing Council (NGC) Meeting, held in Kisii County and hosted by Gusii Water and Sewerage Company Limited who are this year's host.
This is good news to players and the organisation as national annual event was the highest level participants could compete.
Speaking during the meeting, Emily Katambo, the national chair lauded the move terming it as a great reward for best players who get an opportunity to travel and face new challenges.
On his part, the Secretary General, Mark Werunga, appreciated members for embracing ELASCA games.
"These competitions will boost the morale of our players and contribute to the growth of WASCO. We have put in place all the strategies to ensure that the past mistakes that led to withdrawal from the competition are not repeated," he said in his speech.
The NGC also adopted additional disciplines including the tag of war and basketball
