Cabinet noted the Fund has disbursed Sh 57 billion to Kenyans, with at least 2 million customers being regular daily borrowers. Additionally, the Fund has successfully mobilised Sh 3.2 billion in savings. Cabinet directed the rollout of a third product offering focusing on Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector, which will target 2 million beneficiaries who have demonstrated a strong credit history with the Fund.

Cabinet directs expansion of the initiative to not only cover prenatal care but also provide comprehensive postnatal care, ensuring a holistic approach to maternal and child health. This expansion seeks to safeguard the well-being of both mother and child throughout the entire continuum of care. The Cabinet commended the improved surveillance measures at all national entry points to prevent the spread of MPOX. These protocols build on lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic and demonstrates Kenya's dedication to keeping the public safe by closely monitoring potential health threats.

Cabinet directs the implementation of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) pillar of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), enabling the transition from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the Social Health Authority (SHA), effective 1st October, 2024.

Cabinet approved the hosting of The Third African Forum on Cybercrime in November 2024. It also approved the calendar of activities to mark the United Nations World Tourism Day/Week from 22nd September to 29th, which will include free entry to all parks on 28th September, 2024.

Kenya's higher education sector has seen rapid growth, with 79 universities catering to around 600,000 students. The Universities Fund plays a crucial role in providing financial support through a new need-based scholarship model. Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) acknowledged KYEB for offering editorial services for the Commission's third Strategic Plan 2024-2029. The strategic plan was launched on 12.09.24 in Nairobi. KYEB, CEO, Lilian Kimeto (front row, seventh right) joined, UNESCO Director for Eastern Africa Alexandros Makarigakis (tenth right) and Ag Sec-Gen/CEO KNATCOM, Dr James Njogu (fourth left), among other dignitaries at the launch.
