Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh is currently in Africa for a working visit. After Somalia, she arrived in Kenya and paid a courtesy visit to Kenyan president, William Ruto.

She met Sudanese Women Peacebuilders and had discussion about issues faced by women and girls in Sudan.

She also held a meeting with leading business women from the British Chamber of Commerce Kenya at the Pallet Cafe in Lavington, Nairobi. She also met Maryann, an 80-year-old tortoise!

Martial Eagles are one of the focal species we monitor in the greater Mara ecosystem and we're delighted to share the Transmara Martial Eagle pair in Mara North conservancy has a 50 day old chick. It's about halfway before fledging the nest, after which it will stay in close proximity to it's parents who will keep feeding it for approximately 6-7 months while it learns to hunt on its own.
