HANDS OFF THE CHILDREN.

Kenya has a child sexual abuse crisis. And behind every horrifying headline is a child whose innocence was violated, whose safety was betrayed, and whose future may never look the same.

These are not isolated incidents. They are a devastating indictment of a society in which predators exploit vulnerability, institutions fail to protect, and silence too often becomes an accomplice.

We cannot keep raising children in a country where they must learn to fear the very adults entrusted with their protection.

A child’s body is not a site of entitlement. Poverty is not consent. Childhood is not an invitation. And abuse is not a private family matter.

We demand investigations, accountability, survivor-centred justice, and systems that prevent abuse before another child becomes a headline.

The measure of our society is not how loudly we condemn these crimes after they happen, but how fiercely we protect children before they do.

⏰ TODAY, 5PM IS THE DEADLINE ⏰

The Senate is taking your views on the Public Participation Bill, 2025. This Bill decides HOW the government ought to listen to you before it makes decisions. Here are the clauses to watch for 👇

🔎 Clause 8: Notice must be "reasonable", but no minimum number of days is set.
🔎 Clause 12: Your views must be considered and a report prepared. It doesn't say the report must be PUBLISHED.
🔎 Clause 13: Hearings must be in a language you understand. Sign language isn't mentioned.
🔎 Clause 17: Guidelines are published in the Gazette only. Who reads the Gazette? 👀
🔎 Clause 18: The Senate can rely on the National Assembly's participation report, even for a Bill that affects counties.
🔎 Clause 20: The High Court can void an exercise, but only for "wilful" violations.

A man assaults a woman.

Men rush to the comments to remind women that it is “not all men.”

Then that same man becomes the victim of violence, at the hands of other men.

And perhaps that is the conversation we keep refusing to have.

When women speak about male violence, “not all men” treats the conversation as an accusation requiring individual men to prove their innocence. But gendered violence is bigger than the individual.

Men’s violence does not only harm women.

Men are assaulted by men. Men are murdered by men. Boys learn violence from other boys and men. Masculinity can punish vulnerability, reward domination, and teach violence as a legitimate language for resolving conflict.

And no, the second video is not justice.

A woman was harmed.
Then a man was harmed.

Nobody became safer.

Patriarchy has never promised safety to all men. It promises proximity to power, and even that protection is conditional.

So when we talk about ending male violence, we are not asking men to participate simply because women need saving.

Men have something to be liberated from too.

The question was never only, “Why do men hurt women?”

It is also:

What have we built that teaches men to hurt everyone, including each other?

YOU ARE NOT EXEMPT FROM THE VIOLENCE YOU DEFEND.

HAPPY KATIBA DAY? >>

Sixteen years ago, Kenya wrote down that power belongs to the people.

This , we'd love to celebrate - but with 346 days to the elections, we must retrospectively analyse the journey till here.

We're looking at the record: debt eating into development spending for over a decade, a police force that keeps landing on the wrong side of the people it's meant to protect, and an opposition folded into the very government it was elected to check - for 2-regimes straight

None of that means the Constitution failed. It means the people running the country keep finding ways around it.

So we asked the harder question. With an election under a year out, how does anyone actually keep up with it all?

We've been building.
