H.E. Ambassador Hatem Yousri, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, attended the 20th edition of the Affordable Art Show, the largest art exhibition in East Africa, whereby Egyptian Visual Artist, Salma El-Sherif, is showcasing her art for the third consecutive time, with two paintings “Where the Light Returns I & II”, portraying the ancient symbolism of the Lotus flower. The 2 paintings were sold immediately on the first day.
Salma is the only Egyptian artist among 434 artists showcasing their art in the current edition , which is said to be one of the largest shows since its conception with 825 artworks.

His Excellency Hatem Yousri, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kenya, met with K.K. Mutai, CEO of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), to discuss opportunities to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation between Egypt and Kenya, and to enhance connectivity between the two countries’ business communities.
Most importantly, Ambassador Yousri stressed the importance of Kenya’s participation in the upcoming "Alamein Africa Business Forum", to be held in June 2026 in New Alamein City in Egypt. As the first forum of its kind, the Alamein Africa Business Forum aims to bring together African governments, business leaders, and investors to advance African economic integration and strengthen intra-African partnerships.
The Ambassador presented Mr. Mutai with an official invitation to the Alamein Africa Business Forum, and highlighted that it will be an opportunity not only for Kenyan companies to explore business opportunities in Egypt, but also to explore business with other African businesses.
VISA SCAM WARNING
The Embassy of Egypt in Nairobi presents its compliments, and has the honour to inform that the Embassy has been made aware of a fraudulent website claiming to issue visas to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In this regard, The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Nairobi wishes to reiterate that it DOES NOT have a website for visa applications to Egypt, nor does it have any intermediaries that assist with vias issuance or act on behalf of the Embassy.
All those seeking to obtain a visa to Egypt must come to the Embassy and submit their applications IN PERSON, along with presenting all necessary documents. For more information on the documents needed for a visa to Egypt, please call the Consulate’s number: 0758-264-343.
The Embassy also warns against transferring or paying any sums of money to any individual outside the Embassy, as all payments are made in person at the Embassy to the designated Embassy staff member at the Consular Section.
Several fraudulent cases have been reported, and the Embassy requests that all those seeking a visa to Egypt remain vigilant.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population of the Arab Republic of Egypt, visited Nairobi, Kenya to participate in the World Health Summit (WHS), currently being held from 27-29 April 2026.
During the summit, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar headed the session titled "African High-Level Ministerial Committee on the Global Health Architecture Reform."
During his speech within the session, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the launch of the High-Level Ministerial Committee on Global Health Architecture Reform represents a pivotal moment in strengthening Africa's role in shaping the future of global health governance.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar also highlighted Egypt’s unwavering support of the continent's health goals, especially in the areas of local manufacturing of medicines and medical supplies, digital transformation, and expanding universal health coverage.
He accentuated Egypt’s commitment to working jointly with African countries and international partners to ensure that Africa plays an influential role in reshaping the policies of the global health system thereby achieving health security for the peoples of Africa.
Dr. AbdelGhaffar also held a bilateral meeting with Hon. Aden Duale, Cabinet Secretary of Health of Kenya, on the sidelines of the WHS, whereby the two ministers discussed several avenues of health cooperation that benefit both Kenyans and Egyptians. Some of the priority areas discussed included: local manufacturing of medicines and vaccines in Kenya; medicines support; medical exchange programs and trainings.

H. E. Hatem Yousri inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion participating in Medexpo 2026 taking place this year in Nairobi at the Sarit Expo Centre from 22-24 April.
Medexpo is one of the region's most important medical and healthcare event for medical products, equipment, machinery, and services.
The Egyptian exhibition showcases innovative solutions from leading Egyptian companies for the benefit of buyers from the medical technology industry from across the East African region that seek new products and solutions in healthcare.
