KENTTEC – Western Region is participating in the ongoing KALRO–Alupe Open Week, which began yesterday, 26th February, and concludes today at the KALRO Food Crops Research Centre Alupe.
During this important agricultural forum, we are showcasing practical and scalable Tsetse and Trypanosomiasis (T&T) control strategies designed to protect livestock and improve farm productivity.
At our exhibition stand, farmers and stakeholders are learning about:
✔ Effective trap and target deployment
✔ Integrated vector management approaches
✔ Livestock protection and disease prevention
✔ Community-based surveillance systems
The participation seeks to bridge the gap between research and field application by translating proven control methods into scalable, farmer friendly solutions that can be adopted at community level. By engaging directly with farmers and stakeholders, KENTTEC is strengthening awareness, encouraging uptake of recommended technologies and promoting collaborative efforts in the fight against tsetse and trypanosomiasis.
Our engagement aligns with this year’s theme:
“From Research to Markets: Scaling Agricultural Technologies for Inclusive Growth.”
By translating research into practical, field-ready solutions, we continue to empower farmers, strengthen livelihoods, and contribute to inclusive agricultural growth.
