The United Republic of Tanzania in collaboration with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) ESAF Regional Office based in Nairobi organised the hoisting of ICAO flag at Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, to mark the 75th anniversary of signing the Chicago Convention which also ushered in the existence of the global civil aviation body – the International Civil Aviation Organisation.

On the 22nd of August 2019,the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) Director General, Mr. Hamza S. Johari, led the expedition team of about 20 people and hoisted the ICAO's 75th Anniversary Flag at Uhuru Peak,the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.
