MSEA CHAMPIONS CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE DURING NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK 2026
Today marked the official opening of the National Customer Service Week 2026 at Uhuru Park, convened by the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital in partnership with various Government institutions. The week-long forum, running from 5th to 9th October 2026, brings Government services closer to the public by providing a one-stop platform where citizens can access information and services from different institutions under one roof.
As a key Government agency mandated to support the growth and development of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) joined other institutions in bringing its services closer to the public and showcasing the support available to MSMEs.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, representing MSEA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Henry Rithaa, Deputy Coordinator, NYOTA Project, Ms. Evelyn Chemutai, commended the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital for convening the forum and bringing together Government institutions to make services more accessible and convenient to the public.
She highlighted some of the key services offered by MSEA, including formalization of MSEs, capacity building, access to market linkages, and access to workspaces at Constituency Industrial Development Centres (CIDCs) and the Kariobangi Centre of Excellence.
Ms. Chemutai encouraged MSME clusters, associations, groups and CBOs to take advantage of the ongoing KJET Cohort 3 and 4 application process by visiting the MSEA pavilion to formalize their enterprises, groups and associations and position themselves to benefit from ongoing Government programmes and initiatives.
She also invited MSMEs to visit the MSEA booth and register their interest for the upcoming 7th EAC MSMEs Trade Fair, scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from 30th October to 8th November 2026. The regional trade fair will provide MSMEs with opportunities for market access, business linkages, networking and expansion into regional markets.
Leaders from participating Government institutions also shared remarks on the importance of customer service excellence in public service. Huduma Kenya CEO, CPA Benjamin Chilumo, emphasized the need for a seamless and coordinated customer journey, noting that accessing Government services should not feel like a fitness programme where citizens have to move from one office or officer to another. Instead, services should be seamless, timely and focused, with citizens able to access multiple services from a central point.
Visit Uhuru Park throughout the week and take advantage of the opportunity to interact with Government institutions, learn about available services and access support conveniently.
