SENSITIZATION OF INFORMAL SECTOR MSMES ON RETIREMENT BENEFITS IN HOMA BAY
MSEA Homa Bay, in collaboration with the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), conducted a sensitization session at Homa Bay TVC for MSMEs drawn from five associations in Homa Bay Town. The session focused on retirement benefits schemes available to the informal sector, key policy issues, and relevant programs and products.
MSEA Homa Bay also outlined its mandate in supporting MSME development. Representatives from CIC Insurance and CFP also made presentations on financial products tailored for MSME groups, aimed at improving long-term financial security and inclusion.

FINANCIAL LITERACY TRAINING FOR PWDs MSMES
MSEA in collaboration with Kenya Bankers Association and Equity Group Foundation (EGF) successfully hosted a two-day Financial Literacy MSME Training program in Kitui County for Entrepreneurs abled differently.
The MSMEs were equipped with essential skills in budgeting & financial planning, building a savings culture, debt management, and marketing & e-commerce to help them grow resilient, competitive and sustainable businesses.
At the close of the training, all participating MSMEs abled differently were presented with certificates of participation in recognition of their dedication to building financially sustainable enterprises.
As institutions, MSEA and Kenya Bankers Association remain deeply committed to fostering inclusive economic growth and ensuring no entrepreneur is left behind. STRENGTHENING THE AVOCADO VALUE CHAIN IN KISII AND NYAMIRA
MSEA Kisii, in collaboration with the Kisii County Government, engaged a potential investor, Luck for You Avocado (Smartbridge Distributors Limited), in discussions aimed at strengthening the avocado value chain in Kisii County.
The meeting brought together key county stakeholders and focused on organizing farmers into cooperative structures to improve aggregation, coordination, and market access. The investor committed to supporting farmers with quality seedlings and inputs, while the County Government pledged continued extension services through agricultural officers. Plans were also shared to establish avocado pack houses and an oil processing and refinery plant to boost value addition and create employment opportunities in the region.
The investor further introduced a digital platform to enhance traceability from production to harvest. During a visit to the Kiamokama Cold Storage Facility, the investor identified it as a strategic asset for export logistics, with discussions highlighting the need for upgrades and solarization.
The engagement is expected to strengthen the avocado value chain, empower farmers, and enhance sustainable economic growth in Kisii County.

STRENGTHENING THE DAIRY VALUE CHAIN IN FUNYULA THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP
The Department of Agriculture in Busia County donated a milk cooler to Funyula Dairy Cooperative Society during a ceremony graced by PS Susan Mang’eni of the State Department for MSMEs and supported by the MSEA Busia office.
The milk cooler will be installed at the Funyula Enterprise Development Centre, a facility managed by MSEA, highlighting the strong collaboration between national and county institutions in promoting agribusiness development.
The initiative is expected to strengthen the dairy value chain through improved milk storage, reduced losses, and enhanced quality, while empowering farmers economically and promoting sustainable agribusiness practices in Busia County.
