Yesterday marked the official opening of the Ukrainian Bookshelf and the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the V. I. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine, in partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine in Kenya.
Held in celebration of Africa Day, the initiative expands access to Ukrainian literature while strengthening global collaboration in knowledge sharing, preservation, and cultural dialogue.
The ceremony brought together distinguished guests and partners, culminating in a symbolic ribbon-cutting and a vibrant cultural showcase reflecting unity, creativity, and shared heritage.

The AI Awareness Training held at the American Corner Mtaani brought together participants for a practical introduction to emerging technologies and their relevance in today’s information landscape.
Through interactive sessions and guided discussions, attendees gained insights on responsible AI use, digital literacy, and how to leverage these tools for learning, innovation, and productivity.
The engagement reflects a continued commitment to equipping communities with future-ready skills and knowledge.

Cohort 9 has officially completed the Basic ICT Skills Training programme at Maktaba Kuu. The training continues to play a key role in building practical digital skills and closing the gap in access to basic technology competencies.
Beyond certification, the real value is in what participants can now do, confidently use digital tools, access information more effectively, and apply these skills in work and daily life. This is the kind of impact that continues to strengthen digital inclusion across the information space.

The Annual National Reading Day 2026 is almost here.
Get ready to join a nationwide celebration of reading, storytelling and knowledge on Friday, 10th July 2026, with activities taking place throughout the week from 6th to 10th July across the country.
This year’s theme, “Our Stories, Our Future: Empowering Minds through Reading,” calls on all Kenyans to reconnect with the power of stories in shaping identity, knowledge and opportunity.
From engaging reading challenges and storytelling sessions to author engagements and interactive experiences for children, youth and families, the week promises meaningful participation for all.
The celebration will culminate in a national event at Maktaba Kuu, alongside coordinated activities in counties, schools, libraries and community spaces nationwide.
