Mathare Book Drive

The Covid 19 pandemic has affected many people in Kenya and the world.This is a platform to support some of the most vulnerable families in Mathare slums with food.

On the 3rd of October, 2019 our founder Felix celebrated his birthday together with his friends and the children of Mumo Education Center, Mathare.It was a wonderful day.

On the 5th of March, 2019 we were blessed by SDA Church, Oasis ,Karen Youth Ministry who celebrated the Sabbath with the lovely children. Thanks for supporting our project by donating books and clothes. The children of mpito and Mathare will always cherish the moments they shared with you.

We celebrate Brother Peter Mokaya Tabichi the winner of the 2019 Global Teacher Prize.

Brother Peter Tabichi,a member of the Franciscan religious order is a science teacher at Keriko Mixed Day Secondary School in Pwani Village, Nakuru and gives away 80% of his pay to support pupils,who otherwise could not afford uniforms or books.

We share the joy of a man who has passion and has sacrificed comfort to promote education of children in Kenya.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of Flavia Roki who passed away on the 15 of July, 2018.Flavia,an avid reader was passionate about the cause to better the education of the children of Mathare. She was one of the first volunteers when the project started.She will be laid to rest on Tuesday, 24th,July ,2018 at the family Kiserian farm. Rest in Peace Flavia.

Known as competence-based curriculum (CBC), the new system, which seeks to replace the current 8-4-4, focuses on skills instead of knowledge.
It is phased as follows: two years of pre-school, six years of primary school, six years of high school, and three years of tertiary education (2-6-6-3).

Finally, new roadmap for syllabus changes Education ministry starts second testing phase of proposed changes in lower primary across the country ahead of official roll-out next year
