Hon. Lady Justice Njoki Susanna Ndungu, CBS, EBS, FCIArb, a Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya and a member of the JSC offers a compelling candidature to the ICC bench. Immortalised for her successful push for legislation of the Sexual Offenses Act, and solid gender parity reflections. Beyond our solemn prayers, let us offer all coordinated support which she so much needs. She is naturally well reasoned, sober and pays absolute attention to detail.

Freedom of speech does not guarantee the freedom to be irrational. The ripeness of thought must be protected within the understanding of wisdom, conscientiousness and greater good. When speech is inverse to all the three, then the said freedom does not aid the one who claims it.

Protection of rights and durability of laws demand that persons, government and institutions subject themselves to the law for accountability. This is the basis of the rule of law and constitutionalism, one of the ten-point agenda issues agreed upon by President William Ruto and the late Raila Odinga for implementation. The swearing-in of 37 new judges to the High Court and the Environment and Land Court, the largest cohort in Kenya’s history, speaks to the commitment by President Ruto to ensure sufficiency of judges in our courts. This follows the swearing-in of 15 new Court of Appeal judges earlier this year. COIN-10, while meeting the Chief Justice and the Judicial Service Commission earlier in the year, expressed keenness on this front, and recommended increased support to the Judiciary. 10-point agenda is steadily under implementation.

He is by far remote to anxiety who does not habituate predicting the future by working for it. Colours may be grey but success has no grey areas. You only go as far as your mind and effort permit. Pleasant week ahead!
