Roseline’s story shows what’s possible when barriers to inclusion are removed. 🌟 Well done to ActionAid for empowering women living with disabilities to lead, earn and thrive. Proud to support this work through . 🇦🇺
“The project has brought light."
This is what Roseline Kambung told us after getting involved in ActionAid's Gender Responsive Alternatives for Climate Change program.
Roseline Kambung had experienced a number of challenges as a woman living with a disability, and also being in a constant cycle of economic hardship due to ongoing drought in her community in Baringo County, .
But after gaining business training support through ActionAid, Roseline established a tailoring and beadwork shop that has transformed her life. Through hard work and determination, Roseline now has a thriving business and has gained financial independence for the first time in her life.
With this newfound confidence, Roseline now feels empowered to speak up in decision-making spaces, and is driving positive change in her community.
“We now feel recognised as active members of the community, especially when decisions are being made.”
Roseline's transformation demonstrates how removing barriers to inclusion can enable women with disabilities to live with dignity and thrive.
