The DCC Westlands chairing a disaster management committee meeting in the wake of devastating effects of the ongoing rains.
It was noted that most of the damages caused by the rains in Kibagare, Githogoro and Dam slums, UKay Supermarket, Brookside Drive, among others are as a result of man-made causes.
Management of disasters should be proactive, participatory and holistic in order to avert future disasters and loss of lives

HAPPENING NOW! Sensitization of Westlands National Government Administration Officers on the upcoming Polio and Measles campaign in our Subcounty at the DCC's Boardroom.

Community leaders and members of the public are urged to cooperate with the health workers to ensure the success of the campaign.

Please take note of the above POLIO campaign.

Health workers will move from house to house, and in public places and private institutions giving ORAL polio vaccines FREE of charge.

We are all required to mobilize members of the public in our respective areas to ensure the success of the program.

Today 1st April lower Parklands and Spring Valley Assistant chiefs Elizabeth and Kiura respectively conducted a bar to bar and wines and spirits shops check on 2nd generations wines and spirits and licences around Westlands and it's environment.
They also raided a slum in Soweto where they found stolen metal equipment heaped together with scrap metals.

Today Friday 1st April a raid in Githogoro slums today netted 20ltr of changaa, 300ltr of busaa poured, and a massive 300 rolls of bhang and one stone confiscated. Two men and one woman arrested and booked at Runda police station OB 13/01/04/2016. Present are ACC Highridge, Chief Ngamia , Assistant chiefs; Njeri and Emajong. Officers from Runda police station and Gigiri, AP officers from Highridge and wazee wa kijiji .

ACC Kangemi Mr Ng'entu, ACC Kawangware Mr Tuwei, OCS Muthangari Mr Kirimi and other community leaders today held an inter-divisional conflict resolution meeting at Kawangware 56.

Major resolution was that kawangware team adopt kangemi structures as follows.
1.kawangware boda boda operators to form n register their groups
2.every registered group will operate in a certain designated area
3.that all group shall elect their leaders
4.all groups so formed will operate under kawangware 56 boda association later to be transformed into a circle
5.both kawangware n kangemi umbrella groups (saccos)will for a conflict ressolution committee whose membership will include Aos n ocs.

Earlier today we Raided in Kaptagat, arrested the landlord and one changaa dealer and two drunkards the rest ran away. Kitisuru location with Acc Ann Moraa,Ag Leah,AChief George, IP Wanja and Ap team.

The National Government Administration Officers in Westlands Sub-County continues to crack down on Illicit Brew dealers.

This operation was done at Mt view st, Joseph the land lord Mr komo ngaita was arrested and we destroyed the rooms which were dealing with illict brew

In Kaptagat Kitisuru location most of the illicit dens have been
Left vacant but they are at large. Working on their alternative hideouts.

Today, together with PCEA church, Highridge ACC Samuel Mburu, Assistant Chief Njeri, area MCA and other stakeholders launched a rehabilitation program for persons recovering from alcoholism menace in Githogoro slums. Approximately, 64 men and women voluntarily attended the launch of the program which will empower them spiritually, economically, socially and mentally.

Today's operation was carried out on the notorious Kibagare slums in Kitisuru Loc.The following was accomplished:

1) 36 cartons of portable 2nd generation spirits with fake KBS & KRA were confiscated.

2) 180L of Kangara,Busaa & Muratina were destroyed.

3) Two waiters were arrested;1male & 1female.

The operation team was led by ACCs Kangemi; Peter Ng'entu & Annaclate Moraa,Chief Kangemi Naman Kareithi,AG Chief Kitisuru Leah,Ass. chiefs ;Omugweso & Kemunto, OCS Kabete,Ip Ann,Ip Tamoo & Ip Wanja.

The reinforcement team was drawn from KPS & APS.
