Online Safety Training for Child and Youth Club Members

Banteay Srei district: On 24 May 2026, First Step Cambodia organized a training course on “Child Safety Online” for 10 members (5 girls) of the child and youth club from Khnar Sanday commune, Banteay Srei district, Siem Reap province.

The purpose of this training was to strengthen the capacity of club members and youth to protect themselves from online sexual exploitation and abuse and grooming, and to learn ways to raise awareness among children in their commune.

After completing the training, the child and youth club members are able to explain the risks, how to protect themselves and their friends from online sexual exploitation, abuse and grooming, and how to report if such cases occur.

First Step Cambodia would like to express deep thanks to the Heinrich Böll Stiftung Cambodia for providing funding to support this project to strengthen the resilience of children and youth to prevent online sexual exploitation and abuse.

📢 Meeting on Updating Child and Youth Club Members

📍 Banteay Srei District, Siem Reap Province: Recently, staff from First Step Cambodia (FSC) organized a meeting with 10 members (including 5 females) of the Child and Youth Club in Khnar Sanday Commune, Banteay Srei District.

🎯 Key Objectives of the Meeting:
✅ To update the membership status of the Child and Youth Club.
✅ To develop the club's action plan.
✅ To develop the implementation plan for the project on empowering children and youth to prevent online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

✨ As a result, the Khnar Sanday Child and Youth Club successfully updated its club members list and developed the implementation plan for 2026 ensuring effective implementation of “Empowering Children and Youth to Prevent Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA)” project.

Meeting on Establishing Children and Youth Clubs

Prasat Bakong District, Siem Reap Province: Recently, staff from First Step Cambodia collaborated with commune authorities and school directors to establish children and youth clubs at the commune level, representing Ampil, Bakong and Kandek Communes, under the project " Empowering children and youth to promote inclusive and equitable education." The meeting was attended by commune council members, the Commune Committee for Women and Children (CCWC), the director of​ Tapang Secondary School, Bakong Secondary School, and At Svay Thom High School from Ampil, Bakong and Kandek Communes—a total of 40 participants (24 females).

The objectives of this workshop were to select members and establish children and youth clubs for both communes, while promoting children's and youth participation in commune-, district-, and provincial-level decision-making on issues affecting their well-being.

As a result, three child and youth clubs were established, with 30 members (17 females and one child with disability). Representatives for the clubs from both communes were elected; they developed the vision, mission, and named the clubs, with approval from the commune councils, CCWC, primary school, middle school, and high school directors.

Blue Umbrella Day Campaign 2026​ ☔: Together End Sexual Violence Against Boys

Siem Reap Province: On April 30, 2026, First Step Cambodia collaborated with the Siem Reap Provincial Administration and the Banteay Srei District Administration 👏 to organize the Blue Umbrella Day Campaign, under the leadership of H.E. Manny Raingsey, Deputy Governor and Chair of the Provincial Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, and H.E. Phoeng ChendaReth, Provincial Council Member and Vice-Chair of the Provincial Women and Children Consultative Committee. Participants included representatives from provincial and district Departments of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation; district deputy governors; commune chiefs; commune police, parents; youth; and children—totaling 203 people (149 females).

During the event, 12 members from the children and youth clubs of Pak Snaeng and Preah Dak Communes performed a short educational community drama titled “Boys Are Victim of Sexual Abuse Too.” The drama's message emphasized that both boys and girls are vulnerable to sexual abuse, need protection and support, and should learn the "No! Go! Tell!" strategy to protect themselves.

The objectives of this workshop were to select members and establish children and youth clubs for both communes, while promoting children's and youth participation in commune-, district-, and provincial-level decision-making on issues affecting their well-being.

As a result, two children and youth clubs were established, with 20 members (10 females). Representatives for the clubs from both communes were elected; they developed the vision, mission, and named the clubs, with approval from the commune councils, CCWC, primary school, middle school, and high school directors.

សៀមរាប៖ កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ កន្លងទៅនេះ សមាជិកក្លឹបកុមារ និងយុវជន ឃុំពាក់ស្នែង ស្វាយចេក និងព្រះដាក ចំនួន ១២នាក់បានជួបប្រជុំគ្នា ដើម្បីត្រៀមប្រារព្វទិវាឆ័ត្រខៀវ ដើម្បីទប់ស្កាត់អំពើហិង្សាផ្លូវភេទលើកុមារា ដែលនឹងប្រព្រឹត្តទៅនៅថ្ងៃទី៣០ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ២០២៦ខាងមុខនេះ។ ឆ្នាំ២០២៦នេះ អង្គការសង្គមស៊ីវិលចំនួន២៧ ដែលជាសមាជិករបស់ Family for Every Child ជុំវិញពិភពលោករួមគ្នារៀបចំយុទ្ធនាការឆ័ត្រខៀវនេះ។ នៅក្នុងព្រឹត្តិការណ៍ដ៏សំខាន់នេះដែរ អង្គការជំហានដំបូងកម្ពុជា មានសេចក្តីសោមនស្សរីករាយដែលទទួលបានការគាំទ្រពី គណៈកម្មាធិការជាតិប្រយុទ្ធប្រឆាំអំពើជួញដូរមនុស្ស គណៈកម្មាធីការពិគ្រោះយោបល់កិច្ចការស្ត្រី និងកុមារ និងមន្ទីសង្គមកិច្ច ខេត្តសៀមរាប។

Blue Umbrella Day: Prevention of Sexual Violence Against Boys ☔ Coming Soon! ⏳

Siem Reap: On April 25, 2026, 12 members of the Children and Youth Clubs from Pak Snaeng, Svay Chek, and Preah Dak Communes met to prepare for the Blue Umbrella Day on April 30, 2026, aimed at preventing sexual violence against boys. This year, 27 civil society organizations—members of Family for Every Child from around the world—are jointly organizing this Blue Umbrella Day campaign. First Step Cambodia is delighted to receive support from the National Committee for Counter Trafficking, the Women and Children Consultative Committee, and the Department of Social Affairs of Siem Reap Province for this important event.
