Sovann Phoum NGO Sovann Phoum was, then, registered by the Ministry of Interior as a local NGO, on April 10, 2000, with its own head office in Phnom Penh. Micro credit

Sovann Phoum is Local NGO has been working on Community Development to focus on Education, Water Sanitation in Communities and Schools and Livelihood Improvement. Originally, a French NGO, Enfants et Développement (E&D), was implementing an integrated program in two sub-urban communes of Stoeung Mean Chey and Dangkor, Phnom Penh, in 1991. In the view of achievements and experience gained from the implementation of the program activities, Cambodian staff–– who was implementing the program––established a Cambodian NGO, Sovann Phoum, with the support of E&D, in order to continue program activities in existing areas, and to increase similar activities and services to other areas of Cambodia. Sovann Phoum is a non-government, non-religious, and non-profit Organization, working for the best interests of the child, using child-centered community development approach, and is one of the leading NGOs specialized in child-to-child approach for health education and working for benefiting to vulnerable and disadvantaged groups: children and women, through the implementation of socio-economic programs. Having established with strong social mission, commitment and practical experiences, in three fields of Education, Vocational Training and Micro-finance with disadvantaged and poor people, SP has made considerable contributions to the extreme poverty alleviation of Cambodians, both in urban and rural areas of Cambodia.

The rapid rise in floodwater has affected 18 beneficiary households raising pigs, chickens, and ducks across six villages in Teuk Chour Commune, Preah Netr Preah District, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia. Some households have experienced severe impacts, with floodwater entering their homes and livestock shelters, while water levels continue to rise in several areas.
In response, the project team has monitored the situation and provided guidance to beneficiary households on livestock health care, preventive measures, and the safe relocation of animals to higher ground. Households have also been advised to raise livestock shelters where possible and prepare for further flooding.
Meanwhile, piglets from four households have developed diarrhea amid flood-related relocation and damp shelter conditions. The project team provided initial livestock-care guidance, including maintaining access to clean drinking water and using appropriate electrolyte solutions in accordance with product instructions and veterinary advice. Continued monitoring of the affected piglets' health has also been recommended.
With floodwater continuing to rise and further rainfall forecast, households have been urged to remain vigilant, prioritize the safety of family members, and prepare to move their livestock to safer locations before conditions worsen.
The project team will continue monitoring flood conditions, livestock health, and the urgent needs of affected households to help minimize losses and strengthen the resilience of farming families during this emergency.

Due to continuous rain for a week, water flooded the pig pens of farmer Niv Kanthea, who lives in Kok Trias village, Chnour Meanchey commune, Preah Netr Preah district, Banteay Meanchey province. At the time, the sow had only given birth 11 days ago, putting the piglets at risk from flooding and high humidity.
As the farmer gained knowledge and understanding about climate change and preparedness to respond to risks, farmer Niv Kanthea took immediate action by laying additional boards and raising the floor of the pens by about 0.5 meters to protect the piglets from flooding and keep the animals safe.
This action demonstrates the farmer’s ability to apply the knowledge gained to increase resilience and reduce the impact of risks caused by climate change.

“My Home, Nutrition” has 159 families who have received training on cooking a variety of vegetable stir-fries and spicy soups through 11 model mothers, these kinds of food who are rich in nutrients and nutrition. The demonstration was carried out in 11 villages of the families themselves in Chhour Meanchey commune, Preah Netr Preah district, Banteay Meanchey province.
The training includes selecting and combining ingredients, cooking and processing food properly to maintain nutritional value, practicing hygiene in preparation and cooking, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a clean kitchen.

🌿 Community Awareness on Disaster Risk Management

Sovann Phoum Organization, in collaboration with the Disaster Management Officials of Preah Netr Preah District, conducted community awareness activities on disaster preparedness, prevention, and risk management in four villages, reaching a total of 482 participants, including 345 women.

Kok Trach Village, Chhnour Mean Chey Commune – 101 participants (52 women)
Khnhier Village, Bosbov Commune – 111 participants (95 women)
Kak Village, Chob Vary Commune – 123 participants (96 women)
Chrab Chas Village, Chob Vary Commune – 143 participants (102 women)
🎯 The activities aimed to increase community members’ knowledge and awareness of disaster preparedness, prevention, and response, while encouraging active participation in reducing disaster risks within their communities.

ក្នុងនាមអង្គការសុវណ្ណភូមិ យើងខ្ញុំសូមថ្លែងអំណរគុណយ៉ាងជ្រាលជ្រៅដល់ ការិយាល័យអប់រំ យុវជន និងកីឡា ស្រុកព្រះនេត្រព្រះ និងស្រុកភ្នំស្រុក ព្រមទាំងលោកនាយក លោកស្រីនាយិកា លោកគ្រូ អ្នកគ្រូ និងជាពិសេស កុមារអ្នកដឹកនាំក្លឹបសិក្សា ដែលបានចូលរួមយ៉ាងសកម្មក្នុងការគាំទ្រ និងលើកកម្ពស់ការសិក្សារបស់កុមារ។

On behalf of Sovann Phoum, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Education, Youth and Sports Offices of Preah Net Preah and Phnom Srok districts, as well as the directors, principals, teachers, and especially the children who lead the learning clubs who actively participated in supporting and promoting children's education.

Your participation has contributed significantly to creating a fun learning environment, sharing knowledge, and helping each other. In particular, 117 study club leaders (91 girls) demonstrated leadership, responsibility, and caring by helping 364 friends (121 girls) who were struggling with their studies​ with supported by World Vision Cambodia.

ក្រោមជំនួយគាំទ្រពីអង្គការ FH Canada គ្រួសារក្រីក្រ និងងាយរងគ្រោះចំនួន ១៨ គ្រួសារ នៅក្នុងឃុំព្រះនេត្រព្រះ និងឃុំទឹកជោរ ស្រុកព្រះនេត្រព្រះ ខេត្តបន្ទាយមានជ័យ បានចាប់ផ្តើមអនុវត្តផែនការអាជីវកម្មខ្នាតតូចរបស់ខ្លួន តាមរយៈការទទួលបានការគាំទ្រផ្នែកចិញ្ចឹមជ្រូក។
ក្នុងចំណោមគ្រួសារទាំង ១៨ គ្រួសារ៖
គ្រួសារចំនួន ៨ ទទួលបានជ្រូកមេពូជចំនួន ៨ ក្បាល ដោយជ្រូកមួយក្បាលមានទម្ងន់ចន្លោះពី ៦០–៨០ គីឡូក្រាម ដើម្បីចិញ្ចឹមធ្វើជាពូជ និងបង្កើនប្រាក់ចំណូលគ្រួសារ។
គ្រួសារចំនួន ១០ ទទួលបានកូនជ្រូកសាច់ចំនួន ២០ ក្បាល ដោយកូនជ្រូកមួយក្បាលមានទម្ងន់ចាប់ពី ១៣–១៥ គីឡូក្រាម។ គ្រួសារនីមួយៗទទួលបាន ២ ក្បាល សម្រាប់ចិញ្ចឹមជ្រូកសាច់។
ក្រៅពីការផ្តល់ជ្រូក គម្រោងក៏បានគាំទ្រ ចំណីជ្រូកចំនួន ៣០ ការុង និង ធុងបាញ់ចំណុះ ២ លីត្រ ចំនួន ១០ ធុង សម្រាប់គ្រួសារដែលចិញ្ចឹមជ្រូកសាច់ និងជ្រូកមេពូជ។
ការគាំទ្រនេះមានគោលបំណងជួយឱ្យគ្រួសារក្រីក្រ និងងាយរងគ្រោះអាចចាប់ផ្តើម និងអនុវត្តផែនការអាជីវកម្មរបស់ខ្លួន បង្កើនសមត្ថភាពក្នុងការចិញ្ចឹមសត្វ បង្កើនប្រាក់ចំណូល និងលើកកម្ពស់ជីវភាពគ្រួសារឱ្យមានភាពប្រសើរឡើង។ ទន្ទឹមនឹងនេះ គម្រោងនឹងបន្តតាមដាន និងផ្តល់ការណែនាំបច្ចេកទេសដល់គ្រួសារទាំងនេះ ដើម្បីធានាថាការចិញ្ចឹមជ្រូកអាចដំណើរការបានប្រកបដោយប្រសិទ្ធភាព និងមាននិរន្តរភាព។

With support from Food for the Hungry Canada, 18 poor and vulnerable families in Preah Net Preah and Teuk Chor communes, Preah Net Preah district, Banteay Meanchey province, have started implementing their small business plans by receiving support for pig farming.

Of the 18 families:
Eight families received 8 breeding pigs, each weighing between 60–80 kg, to raise as breeding stock and increase family income.
Ten families received 20 piglets, each weighing between 13–15 kg. Each family received 2 pigs for raising as meat pigs.
In addition to providing pigs, the project also supported 30 cartons of pig feed and 10 2-liter spray bottles for families raising meat pigs and breeding pigs.

This support aims to help poor and vulnerable families start and implement their business plans, increase their livestock farming capacity, increase their income, and improve their family’s livelihood. Meanwhile, the project will continue to monitor and provide technical guidance to these families to ensure that pig farming can be carried out efficiently and sustainably. #រដ្ឋបាលស្រុកព្រះនេត្រព្រះ

ការប្រជុំមាតាបិតា/អាណាព្យាបាលមានគោលបំណង បង្ហាញ និងចែករំលែកលទ្ធផលសិក្សារបស់កុមារ បន្ទាប់ពីបានចូលរួមក្នុងក្លឹបសិក្សាចំនួន ២៨ ក្លឹប ដែលអនុវត្តនៅក្នុងសាលាបឋមសិក្សាចំនួន ២៧ សាលា រយៈពេល ៦ ខែក្នុងស្រុកព្រះនេត្រព្រះ និងភ្នំស្រុកខេត្តបន្ទាយមានជ័យ។
ការប្រជុំនេះក៏មានគោលបំណងបង្ហាញពីការរីកចម្រើនរបស់កុមារ ទាំងផ្នែកចំណេះដឹង ជំនាញ និងការចូលរួមក្នុងការរៀនសូត្រ បន្ទាប់ពីទទួលបានការយកចិត្តទុកដាក់ ការគាំទ្រ និងការជំរុញលើកទឹកចិត្តពីមាតាបិតា/អាណាព្យាបាលកន្លងមក។
ជាមួយគ្នានេះ ការប្រជុំក៏ជាឱកាសមួយសម្រាប់ លើកទឹកចិត្ត និងទទួលស្គាល់ការចូលរួមរបស់កុមារដែលជាអ្នកដឹកនាំក្លឹបសិក្សា ដែលបានបង្ហាញភាពក្លាហាន ទំនួលខុសត្រូវ និងការស្ម័គ្រចិត្តក្នុងការជួយបង្រៀន និងគាំទ្រមិត្តភក្តិរបស់ខ្លួនក្នុងការរៀនសូត្រកន្លងមក។ ជាការលើកទឹកចិត្ត និងទទួលស្គាល់ចំពោះការខិតខំប្រឹងប្រែងរបស់ពួកគេ កុមារដែលបានចូលរួមយ៉ាងសកម្មក្នុងការដឹកនាំក្លឹបសិក្សា ត្រូវបានផ្តល់ប័ណ្ណសរសើរ និងសម្ភារៈសិក្សា។

The parent/guardian meeting aims to present and share the children’s academic results after participating in 28 learning clubs implemented in 27 primary schools for 6 months in Preah Net Preah and Phnom districts, Banteay Meanchey province.
The meeting also aims to show the children’s progress in terms of knowledge, skills and participation in learning after receiving the attention, support and encouragement from parents/guardians in the past.
At the same time, the meeting is also an opportunity to encourage and recognize the participation of children who are study club leaders who have shown courage, responsibility and willingness to help teach and support their friends in their learning in the past. As an encouragement and recognition for their efforts, children who actively participated in leading study clubs were given certificates of appreciation and learning materials.
This activity contributed to encouraging children to continue to study hard, strengthen courage and responsibility, and promote a culture of mutual support in learning among friends. At the same time, it also strengthened the participation of parents/guardians in supporting and promoting children’s education better. This is supported by World Vision Cambodia , a project called Enhancing Food Security, Nutrition, and Livelihoods for Vulnerable Households to Build Climate Resilience and Improve Child Education.
