The Department of Youth Empowerment extends sincere condolences to the family, friends, teammates, and loved ones of Shervin King.
Shervin was recognized as one of the Departmentโs 2021 25 Most Remarkable Teens under the category of Sports, a reflection of his dedication, talent, and positive impact. His contribution and presence will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
During this difficult time, we keep his family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. May they find strength, comfort, and peace in the memories shared.

Shervin King:
Category: Sports-Football
Following in the footsteps of his father, Shervin is passionate about football. He thanks his father for introducing him to the sport at a very young age. Over the years, Shervin has developed an impressive list of accolades in football. He devotes a significant amount of his time towards becoming a better footballer. In primary school, Shervin was the captain of his schoolโs football team. When he joined the Washington Archibald High School, Shervin was later named the captain of his schoolโs U-14 team. His tenure as captain was successful as his team won the championship for that year. Shervinโs accomplishments in the sport include being named the "Best High School Male Football Player of the Year" in 2019. Similarly, he etched his name into St. Kitts and Nevis football history when he became the first person to be named Most Valuable Player for the St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association Under 15 and Under 17 Youth Football Leagues. During the 2020 U-15 St. Kitts Nevis Football Association tournament, Shervin scored a whopping 32 goals
which enabled him to secure the title of Most Valuable Player (MVP). Shervin displays an undying love for the sport and aspires to be a professional footballer. Judging from his success so far, Shervin is well on his way to accomplish this goal.
Evidently, there is no stopping Shervinโs athletic prowess. He credits his success to his strong support system consisting of his family, more specifically, his parents. Shervinโs coach describes him as a high-spirited and self-motivated individual who believes that academics, as well as extracurricular activities are key to personal development. His mother constantly reminds him that academics are important as such Shervin strikes the perfect balance between academic excellence and athletic prowess. For Shervin, failure is never an option. He recalls oftentimes returning home after practice feeling tired and unmotivated. However, he never used it as an excuse to rest, instead completed his homework and assignments. To Shervinโs disappointment, sometimes he often has to sacrifice his football practices to complete his assignments. Although he never likes having to make a choice, he knows that it is necessary if he wants to continue to maintain his standing as a top student. At the Washington Archibald High School, Shervin consistently earns a spot on the Honour Roll and Principalโs List. He is guided by the saying, "Balance is not something you find, it is something you create." Shervin King was born to be great and thus continues to strive to reach the stars. It is just a matter of time before Shervinโs name is added to the list of successful professional footballers
from St. Kitts and Nevis. Until then, Shervinโs name is proudly added to the roster as one of St. Kitts and Nevisโ Most Remarkable Teens.
