PUBLIC NOTICE
TRUCK OPERATORS REMINDED TO SECURE AND COVER LOADS
The Traffic Department of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force wishes to remind all truck operators and drivers of their responsibility to ensure that all loads being transported on public roads are properly secured and covered.
Particular attention is drawn to the transportation of loose materials such as sand, gravel, soil, stone, construction debris, and other similar materials. These loads must be adequately covered to prevent materials from falling, spilling, or being blown from vehicles while in transit.
Uncovered loads pose a significant danger to other road users. Falling debris can damage vehicles, obstruct roadways, reduce visibility, and cause serious traffic accidents. In addition, materials deposited on the roadway can create hazardous driving conditions and increase the risk of injury to motorists, motorcyclists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
Truck operators are therefore advised to:
Ensure that all loads are properly secured before commencing a journey.
Use suitable tarpaulins, covers, nets, or other approved methods to prevent materials from escaping from the vehicle.
Avoid overloading vehicles.
Regularly inspect load coverings and securing devices during transit.
Drivers found operating vehicles with unsecured or uncovered loads may be subject to enforcement action under the relevant provisions of the law.
The cooperation of all truck operators and drivers is appreciated as we work together to maintain safe and clean roadways throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.

๐จ PUBLIC NOTICE | MUSIC FESTIVAL SECURITY ADVISORY ๐จ
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) advises the public and businesses across the Federation to remain vigilant ahead of and during this year's Music Festival. Please read and share the following guidance carefully.
๐ต COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY
When accepting US dollar banknotes, take a moment to:
๐น Feel the note: genuine US currency has a distinctive texture and raised printing that counterfeit notes often lack.
๐น Check security features: look for the watermark, embedded security thread, and colour-shifting ink on the denomination numeral.
๐น Compare any suspicious note against one you know to be genuine.
๐น Exercise extra caution with large-denomination notes.
๐น Train your staff to ensure that everyone handling cash knows the basic security features of US currency before the Festival begins.
๐๏ธ FESTIVAL TICKETS
To protect yourself from ticket fraud:
๐น Purchase tickets only from authorised vendors and official sales outlets.
๐น Do not buy tickets from unknown individuals, unofficial online resellers, or strangers at the gate.
๐น Verify electronic tickets through official event channels before attending.
๐น Be wary of tickets offered at unusually low or discounted prices. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
๐ชชFRAUDULENT DOCUMENTS & IDENTIFICATION
Businesses are encouraged to:
๐น Carefully inspect identification documents presented during transactions.
๐น Verify the authenticity of credentials where there is any doubt.
๐น Report any suspected forged IDs, permits, or official documents to the Police immediately.
๐ข IF YOU ENCOUNTER SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY:
โ
Do not confront the individual.
โ
Retain the item in question where it is safe and lawful to do so.
โ
Note any identifying information about the person involved.
โ
Contact the nearest Police station or call the emergency line at 911 immediately.
The RSCNPF will maintain a visible and active presence throughout the MFest season to ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors. Enjoy yourself and stay alert.
