01 October 2026, Busan โ€“ Five Filipino cadets are taking part in the 2026 Smart Integrated Global Onboard Training Programme (SI-GOBT) in the Republic of Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and organized by the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT).
Running from 01 September to 27 November 2026, the program brings together 48 cadets from 14 countries for maritime education, safety training, and practical onboard experience aboard the training vessel ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ช.

Carada participated in the โ€œIsland Friends Dayโ€ of the Philippines at the World Island Fair Yeosu Korea 2026, featuring a Philippine pavilion and a live performance by the award-winning Filipino contemporary dance company Daloy Dance Company, led by Artistic Director and Choreographer Ea Torrado.

The Philippine Pavilion, produced and sponsored by the Dโ€™Aboville Foundation, brought Mindoro to Yeosu through an immersive presentation of its art, island culture, Indigenous heritage, marine biodiversity, and conservation efforts.

During the opening program on 5 September 2026, the Philippine Pavilion received the โ€œMost Beautiful Standโ€ Award from the โ€œMost Beautiful Bays in the Worldโ€ Association.

Ms. WAO Jeju is a meaningful community initiative that celebrates the strength, resilience, leadership, and aspirations of Filipino migrant women in Jeju. The platform provides an opportunity for women to build confidence and actively contribute to the Filipino community.

The event also reflects the spirit of WAOโ€”We Are One, promoting unity, mutual support, cultural pride, and personal growth among Filipinos living away from home.
