02 June 2026, Busan – The Philippine Consulate General in Busan welcomed Senior Lecturer Mark Rae De Chavez of the University of the Philippines, Department of Linguistics, representing the UP Korea Research Center.

During the courtesy visit, discussions focused on Korea-related initiatives of the UPKRC and explored potential areas of collaboration to further academic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.

The Consulate General extends its sincere appreciation for the visit and the thoughtful gift of publications, which will enhance understanding of Philippines–Republic of Korea relations.

02 June 2026, Busan –The Philippine Consulate General in Busan highlighted the growing partnership between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea (ROK) during an interview with Busan English Broadcasting's Busan Worldwide program.

Established alongside the deepening Strategic Partnership between both countries, the Consulate General brings services closer to Filipinos in the southern region of the ROK and strengthens cooperation in trade, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Consul General Leah Victoria T. Carada highlighted Busan’s special place in shared history and its growing role as a hub for future collaboration.

“The establishment of the Philippine Consulate General is important because it brings government services closer to Filipinos in Busan and neighboring regions,” she said. The interview also highlighted that the Consulate General serves as a bridge—not only to provide services and protection to our nationals, but also to promote closer cooperation and mutual understanding between the Philippines and ROK.

The new Consulate General stands as a bridge—honoring shared history while building new opportunities for partnership and growth.

26 May 2026, Busan– The Philippines, represented by the Department of Finance, participated in the 2026 Global Training Program in Busan on 25–30 May 2026, hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Global City Foundation (BGCF).

With the theme “Water Management,” the program promotes cooperation and knowledge-sharing on urban sustainability, disaster resilience, and efficient resource management among participating countries.

In her remarks during the opening ceremony, Consul General Leah Victoria T. Carada highlighted the importance of deeper cooperation among the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Republic of Korea in addressing shared climate and environmental challenges. END

2026년 5월 23일, 부산 - 필리핀 재무부 대표단이 2026년 5월 25일부터 30일까지 부산광역시와 부산글로벌도시재단(BGCF)이 주관한 2026 글로벌 연수 프로그램에 참가했다.

이번 프로그램은 “수자원 관리”라는 주제와 함께, 도시 지속가능성, 재해 회복, 효율적인 자원 관리에 대한 참가국 간 협력과 지식 공유를 증진하였다.

총영사 레아 빅토리아 T. 카라다는 개화사에서 공동의 기후 및 환경 문제 대응을 위해 필리핀, 인도네시아, 대한민국 간 긴밀한 협력의 중요성을 강조하였다.
