Closing announcement

The Embassy of Denmark in Korea will be closed on 5 May and 25 May due to public holiday. During this time all calls to the Embassy will be transferred to the 24/7 call centre in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

Over the past week, we have introduced the Danish speakers shaping how AI is applied across industries.

🔹 Recognized as a pioneer in flexible and collaborative automation

Previously, he served as Vice President, Technology and Strategy & Innovation at Universal Robots, shaping cobot platforms, AI, safety, and the UR+ ecosystem, as well as the future of human–robot collaboration.

He also serves on the board of Odense Robotics and is a frequent speaker at global industry events such as NVIDIA GTC and Automatica.

한국 속 덴마크: 유틀란디아호 한국 입항 75주년 기념 헌화식

지난 10일(화), 주한덴마크대사관 주최로 6·25 전쟁 당시 덴마크 병원선 유틀란디아(MS JUTLANDIA)호의 한국 입항 75주년을 기념하는 헌화식이 서울 전쟁기념관 평화의 광장에서 진행되었습니다.

이번 행사는 미카엘 헴니티 빈터 주한덴마크대사, 옌스 피터 홀스트-앤더슨 덴마크 국방무관, 강윤진 국가보훈부 차관, 양동학 전쟁기념사업회 사무총장, 유엔군사령부 파견 덴마크 장교, 6·25 전쟁 참전용사 5분, 전쟁 당시 유틀란디아호에서 치료받은 김주완 님 및 덴마크 교민들의 참석 하에 진행됐습니다.

1951년 3월 10일은 유틀란디아호가 부산에서 임무를 시작한 날입니다. 당시 유틀란디아호는 세 차례의 파견 동안 5,000명 이상의 군인뿐 아니라 6,000여 명 이상의 민간인 치료에도 힘쓰며 인도주의적 지원을 이어갔습니다.

Denmark in Korea: Remembering the 75th anniversary of MS Jutlandia in Korea

On 10 March, the Embassy of Denmark in Korea hosted a wreath-laying ceremony commemorating the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Danish hospital ship MS Jutlandia in Busan, Korea, during the Korean War. The event was held at the Peace Square of the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul.

In attendance were Ambassador Mikael Hemniti Winther and Defense Attaché Jens Peter Holst-Andersen; Vice Minister Kang Yun-jin of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA); Secretary General Yang D**g Hak of the War Memorial; the Danish contingency of the United Nations Command in Korea; five Korean War veterans; Kim Ju Whan, a civilian who was treated aboard Jutlandia; and Danes residing in Korea.

MS Jutlandia commenced its humanitarian mission in Busan on 10 March 1951. The hospital ship provided medical aid over three deployments, treating more than 5,000 military personnel and more than 6,000 civilians throughout the Korean War.

한국 속 덴마크: 2026 서울리빙디자인페어

주한덴마크대사관은 지난 2월 25일(수)부터 3월 1일(일)까지 코엑스에서 개최된 2026 서울리빙디자인페어에 참가했습니다.

이번 페어에서 대사관은 'Room for Danish Design'이란 이름 하의 덴마크 국가관을 운영하며 총 10개의 유수 덴마크 디자인 브랜드를 선보였습니다: 앤트레디션(&Tradition), 아일러센(Eilersen), 에스터 앤 에릭(ester & erik), 파우스크 마블 바이 모저(Fauske Marble by Moser), 프렌즈 앤 파운더스(FRIENDS & FOUNDERS), 게오르그 옌센 다마스크(Georg Jensen Damask), J.L. 묄러(J.L. Møller), 리베인 스튜디오(REEVEIN STUDIOS), 실케보르 울스핀너리(Silkeborg Uldspinderi), 파인 베딩 컴퍼니(The Fine Bedding Company).

국가관은 미카엘 헴니티 빈터 대사와 브랜드 관계자들 방문과 함께 공식 개관했습니다. 페어 기간, 수천 명의 관람객이 덴마크 국가관을 찾으며 덴마크 라이프스타일 디자인의 아름다움과 가치를 직접 확인했습니다.

2월 28일(토)에는 덴마크 싱어송라이터 아만다 톰센의 라이브 공연이 진행되어 디자인과 음악이 어우러진 특별한 문화 교류의 장이 펼쳐졌습니다.

이번 덴마크 국가관 운영에 함께 한 10개의 브랜드, 국가관 디자이너 레아케 리옴, 아만다 톰센, 그리고 공동 주최 기관인 덴마크 산업연합(DI) 및 크리에이티브 덴마크(Creative Denmark)에 감사 인사를 전합니다.

Denmark in Korea: 2026 Seoul Living Design Fair

The Embassy of Denmark in Korea participated in the 2026 Seoul Living Design Fair held at COEX in Seoul from February 25 to March 1.

At the fair, the Embassy presented the 'Room for Danish Design', a national pavilion that brought together 10 exceptional Danish design brands: &Tradition, Eilersen, ester & erik, Fauske Marble by Moser, FRIENDS & FOUNDERS, Georg Jensen Damask, J.L. Møller, REEVEIN STUDIOS, Silkeborg Uldspinderi and The Fine Bedding Company.

Ambassador Mikael Hemniti Winther officially opened the pavilion together with representatives from the participating brands and our partner organisations. Throughout the fair, the brands welcomed thousands of visitors who came to discover the beauty and value of Danish lifestyle design.

On February 28, Danish singer-songwriter Amanda Thomsen delivered a live musical performance, bringing together design and music in a vibrant showcase of cultural exchange.
