Startup Germany Breakfast: Pathways into Germany and Europe

Thinking about expanding into Europe? Germany offers a unique combination of market access, funding opportunities, and a strong innovation ecosystem.

At this breakfast session during NextRise in Seoul, we bring together Korean and international startups interested in exploring these opportunities first-hand.

​Following a short welcome by Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) and a keynote, a moderated fireside chat will provide practical insights into entering the German market — from identifying the right partners to navigating available support programs, such as German Accelerator, which actively supports the scaling and internationalization of startups.

​The session is intentionally concise, with around 30 minutes of input designed to give clear orientation and actionable perspectives.

Afterwards, participants are invited to stay for breakfast and open networking, offering the opportunity to connect directly with speakers and ecosystem representatives.

🌏 Helping founders turn AI potential into real companies, Sophie Chiu is joining NextRise 2026 to explore how stronger capital connections between Taipei and Korea can accelerate startup growth.

Sophie Chiu brings a perspective shaped by both investment expertise and founder support. As Principal leading the AI Arm at AppWorks, one of Asia's leading startup accelerators and venture platforms, she works closely with founders to help build transformative companies powered by AI.

Before joining AppWorks in 2020, Sophie spent nearly a decade in public equity investing and research, with experience spanning Neuberger Berman's Emerging Market Equity Fund, Credit Suisse, JPMorgan, and London-based Autonomous Research. Her background in financial analysis, combined with hands-on experience supporting founders, gives her a unique perspective on startup growth, capital, and long-term company building.

Beyond finance and technology, Sophie is also the author of two poetry collections, reflecting a long-standing curiosity about human psychology and behavior — a perspective that informs how she thinks about founders, teams, and innovation.

🧠 Exploring what the future of AI-native organizations could look like, Woody Park (Minjun Park) is joining NextRise 2026 to rethink how organizations operate, make decisions, and evolve.

Everyone talks about AI adoption. But what happens when AI moves beyond productivity tools and begins reshaping how organizations actually operate?

Minjun Park brings a perspective grounded in both technical expertise and startup ex*****on. He studied Physics at Seoul National University with a minor in Computer Science before beginning his career as a researcher at global quantitative investment firm WorldQuant. In 2023, he joined Wrtn Technologies, where he held multiple leadership roles before being appointed CEO of Wrtn AX, a venture dedicated to AI transformation (AX) for enterprises and public institutions, following its launch in 2025. He also serves on the Korea SMEs & Startups Agency (KOSME) AX Innovation Committee, where he is the only representative from the startup sector, helping to bridge AI transformation and the startup ecosystem.

At NextRise 2026, Minjun will explore what it truly means to become an AI-native startup, why traditional organizational structures may no longer be enough, and how AI could fundamentally transform decision-making and leadership inside companies.
