If you want to leave the Middle East, the U.S. government is ready to assist by providing you the latest information about the departure options available. President Trump, Secretary of State Rubio, and the Department of State have no higher priority than the safety and security of American citizens. Commercial flights are currently not operating out of Kuwait due to the continuing threat of missile and UAV attacks. In light of reports of threats against locations where American citizens may be present, and with the continued availability of overland commercial options, the U.S. Embassy does not plan to organize any further charter flights for American citizens at this time. There are overland routes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where commercial flights are departing the region. The U.S. government is ready to help Americans leave the Middle East if you choose to take advantage of the options available. Commercial flights are currently not operating out of Kuwait due to the continuing threat of missile and UAV attacks. There are overland routes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where commercial options to depart the region are operating. Americans should strongly consider departing on one of these overland routes if they believe it is safe to do so.
The U.S. Department of State will arrange buses in the coming days for American citizens wishing to leave Kuwait. If you wish to be included on one of the buses, you must submit the following form and await further instructions (if you have already submitted the form, please don’t do so again): mytravel.state.gov/s/crisis-intake. You may also choose to make your own commercial transit arrangements.

U.S. citizens in Kuwait can also call the State Department at +1-202-501-4444 to receive departure information and assistance.
If you choose to not take advantage of departure options available, Americans should be prepared to shelter in place in a secure location within your residence or another safe building. Have a supply of food, water, medications, and other essential items.

تحدث وزير الخارجية ماركو روبيو اليوم مع وزير خارجية الكويت الشيخ جراح جابر الأحمد الصباح. وقد أعرب الوزير روبيو عن تعازيه في فقدان اثنين من أفراد القوات المسلحة الكويتية وآخرين قُتلوا وأُصيبوا. كما أعرب عن امتنانه لوزير الخارجية على استجابة الكويت الثابتة للهجمات والتهديدات الصادرة عن النظام الإيراني. كذلك ناقش الجانبان العمليات الجارية التي تنفذها الولايات المتحدة لمواجهة تلك التهديدات، إلى جانب تطورات أخرى في المنطقة.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke today with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Secretary Rubio conveyed his condolences for the loss of two members of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and others who have been killed and injured. The Secretary expressed gratitude to the Foreign Minister for Kuwait’s steadfast response to attacks and threats from the Iranian regime. They also discussed ongoing U.S. operations to counter those threats, as well as other developments in the region.
