Ambassador Melissa Kelly visited the School of Aviation, where she met with Captain Abdulhammed Al Refai, Senior Director of the School of Aviation, and Chief Training Instructor Gavin Roneberg.

As an Approved Training Organisation accredited by Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, AU is helping equip the next generation of aviation professionals with practical, industry-focused skills.

During the visit, the ambassador tried her hand at several flight simulators and got an up-close look at AU’s air traffic control simulator training facility.

A great example of Australia’s practical, industry-focused approach to education in action here in Kuwait.

زارت السفيرة ميليسا كيلي مدرسة الطيران في الجامعة الأسترالية، حيث التقت بالكابتن عبدالحميد الرفاعي، المدير الأول لمدرسة الطيران، وغافن رونبرغ، كبير مدربي الطيران.

وبصفتها جهة تدريبية معتمدة من الإدارة العامة للطيران المدني في الكويت، تساهم الجامعة في إعداد الجيل القادم من المتخصصين في قطاع الطيران من خلال تزويدهم بمهارات عملية مرتبطة باحتياجات القطاع.

وخلال الزيارة، جرّبت السفيرة عدداً من أجهزة محاكاة الطيران، واطّلعت عن قرب على منشأة التدريب القائمة على محاكاة مراقبة الحركة الجوية في الجامعة الأسترالية.

مثال مميز على نهج أستراليا العملي والمرتبط باحتياجات القطاعات المهنية في مجال التعليم، هنا في الكويت.

The Australian Embassy in Kuwait is open and accepting passport and notarial appointments. All passport applications can now be lodged at the Embassy, and the temporary online passport application process has now ceased.

On Australia reaffirms its commitment to media freedom, recognising independent journalism is central in protecting human rights, democracy and peace.

Ambassador Melissa Kelly was pleased to meet with Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Sabah, CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

The meeting provided an opportunity to reiterate Australia’s condemnation of the attacks on Kuwait’s territory, including those that targeted KPC facilities, and to underscore Australia’s steadfast support to Kuwait.

As partners in global energy supply chains, it was also a chance to discuss ongoing developments and consider opportunities to strengthen Australia and Kuwait’s bilateral relationship.

The Australian Embassy in Kuwait is pleased to welcome Marwa El-Salamouny as our new Administrative, Consular, and Passport Assistant.

Marwa will work with the Embassy’s consular team to support Australians in Kuwait across passport, notarial, and other consular services. She looks forward to getting to know the Australian community in Kuwait over the coming weeks and months.

Flight update.

Kuwaiti authorities have announced the reopening of airspace and a phased resumption of flight operations at Kuwait International Airport, with services operating on a limited basis.

Travellers should check directly with airlines for the latest flight information and ensure arrangements are confirmed before travel. Flights continue to operate from nearby airports in Saudi Arabia with onward connections to Australia.
