While counterfeit products are often associated with imitation luxury brands, the reality is much broader. These goods can present risks to consumers, undermine legitimate businesses, and impact confidence in the marketplace.

On Monday, 16 June, 2026, members of the community gathered outside the Governor’s House, for the Cayman Islands King’s Birthday Parade and Inspection, a proud display of service, discipline, and national pride. 🇰🇾
The ceremony brought together uniformed services, Government leaders, and community members to honour service to the Cayman Islands. The event also featured the annual parade inspection conducted by Her Excellency Governor Jane Owen.
The Ministry of District Administration and Home Affairs was proud to witness the dedication, professionalism, and commitment displayed throughout the parade by the many individuals and organisations, especially the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps (CICC), Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS), and His Majesty’s Cayman Islands Prison Service (HMCIPS), that work each day to help keep our Islands safe, resilient, and strong.

🚨 New Trade Mark Regulations take effect on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
The new Regulations strengthen the Cayman Islands’ ability to address suspected counterfeit goods by providing Customs and Border Control (CBC) with a formal legal framework to intervene when these products are identified at the border.
Counterfeit goods can impact consumers, businesses, and communities by introducing potential safety risks and undermining legitimate trade.

The Ministry’s Emerging Leader Programme recently continued with an engaging and informative session on Information Rights Basics, delivered by Aubrey Bodden from Information Rights.
The session provided participants with valuable insight into the principles of Freedom of Information (FOI) and Data Protection, helping to strengthen awareness, accountability, and good governance practices across the Civil Service.
