On the Day of Remembrance of Victims of Political Repression and Famine, Ambassador José Ataíde Amaral took part in a joint commemorative ceremony at the Spassk Memorial Complex.

Together with diplomats from the Embassies of the EU Member States, Ambassador paid tribute to those who suffered under political repression and laid flowers at the memorial.

🕊️ Today we honour UN Peacekeepers, the heroes who save lives and build peace worldwide. Portugal proudly contributes to these missions since 1958, when we joined our first UN peacekeeping operation. A legacy of commitment that continues today.

For the third year in a row, we are continuing to celebrate European culture, unity, and friendship in Kazakhstan at the Eurofest in Astana.

Extend our sincere gratitude to the European Delegation for organizing this wonderful event and for creating a vibrant platform that brings communities together.

Special thanks also go to our partners who made the Embassy tent possible and contributed to its success: Rio restaurant, Paris-Brest bakery, and Montebianco wine shop.

We are especially grateful to the volunteers from MNU for their energy, dedication, and invaluable support throughout the event. Your help made a real difference.

Celebration of the took place at the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan in cooperation with the Embassy of Brazil.

🎥The event featured screenings of two short films dedicated to Guimarães Rosa and an episode of the documentary series “Herdeiros de Saramago” about Bruno Vieira Amaral, followed by a Q&A session with the writer. The evening concluded with a tasting of Portuguese and Brazilian savory specialties, bringing together culture, language, and gastronomy in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

📚As part of this year’s celebration, 50 books were donated to the Portuguese Language Corner at the Library, contributing to the promotion of the Portuguese language and Lusophone culture in Kazakhstan. Guests also had the opportunity to visit the exhibition dedicated to the poet Luís de Camões.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined us in celebrating the richness and diversity of the Portuguese language and culture.

🇪🇺On Sunday, we had the pleasure of participating in for the third time as part of the celebrations dedicated to Europe Day.

🇵🇹This year, our stand showcased some of the most popular Portuguese specialties, including 🐟pastel de bacalhau and 🥧pastel de nata. We also sold embassy merchandise in support of charity fundraising initiatives.

🎗️It was a great pleasure to meet and reconnect with colleagues from other European Embassies and International Organizations. The fair once again highlighted the spirit of unity, cooperation, and cultural exchange that represents.
