Prospects for cooperation within the EU program on the Development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor discussed in Astana

On 16 January 2026, a working meeting was held in Astana at the office of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR Association) with representatives of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the French public agency Expertise France.

The participants discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of the new European Union program “Capacity Development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC),” which is implemented with financial support from the EU, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ), and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.

The program is aimed at strengthening transport connectivity and improving the regulatory framework in the countries of Central Asia through the harmonization of customs procedures and the promotion of sustainable approaches in logistics.

As a result of the meeting, key areas of cooperation were identified, including the promotion of the route in European countries. The parties agreed to continue joint work on further elaboration of these areas.

Перспективы сотрудничества в рамках программы ЕС по развитию Транскаспийского коридора обсуждены в Астане

16 января 2026 года в Астане в офисе Международной ассоциации «Транскаспийский международный транспортный маршрут» (Ассоциация ТМТМ) прошла рабочая встреча с представителями Германского общества по международному сотрудничеству (GIZ) и французского государственного агентства Expertise France.

Участники обсудили перспективы взаимодействия в рамках новой программы Европейского Союза «Развитие потенциала Транскаспийского транспортного коридора (ТКТК)», которая реализуется при финансовой поддержке ЕС, Федерального министерства экономического сотрудничества и развития Германии (BMZ), а также Министерства Европы и иностранных дел Франции.

Программа направлена на укрепление транспортных связей и совершенствование нормативно-правовой базы в странах Центральной Азии через гармонизацию таможенных процедур и продвижение устойчивых подходов в логистике.

По итогам встречи были определены ключевые направления сотрудничества, включая продвижение маршрута в странах Европы. Стороны договорились продолжить совместную работу по их дальнейшей проработке.

The International Caspian Ports & Shipping 2025 Conference held in Aktau

From 9 to 11 December 2025, the international transport and logistics exhibition and conference Caspian Ports & Shipping 2025 was held in the city of Aktau (Republic of Kazakhstan). The event was organized by the international company Transport Events Management Limited in cooperation with JSC “NC “Aktau Sea Commercial Port.” The International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR Association) acted as the official strategic partner of the event.

The main purpose of holding the exhibition and conference was to highlight the capabilities of the transport infrastructure of the Caspian region and to enhance its transit potential.

The official opening of the conference took place with the participation of the Acting Chairman of the Management Board of NC "Aktau International Sea Commercial Port" JSC Dauren Kutpanbayev.

Among the key topics of the conference were the strategic role of the Trans-Caspian route in the development of infrastructure and international partnerships, issues of energy efficiency and the transition to a low-carbon economy, the integration of road, rail, and maritime routes in the Caspian region, as well as the main trends in trade and transport flows between Asia and Europe.

Within the session “Middle Corridor: Achievements of the Aktau Hub in 2025 and Prospects for 2026,” a presentation was delivered by the Acting Secretary General of the TITR Association, Nurgul Zhakupova. Following the opening ceremony, conference participants visited the TITR Association stand, where they familiarized themselves with the current activities and development prospects of the TITR route.

Approximately 100 representatives of railway, maritime, transport, and logistics companies, government authorities, leading cargo owners of the region, as well as suppliers of port equipment and representatives of other business sectors took part in the event.

In addition, on 9 December 2025, one day prior to the start of the conference, event participants made technical visits to the ports of Aktau and Kuryk, during which they became thoroughly acquainted with the port infrastructure.

В Актау прошла международная конференция Caspian Ports & Shipping 2025

9–11 декабря 2025 года в городе Актау (Республика Казахстан) состоялась международная транспортно-логистическая выставка и конференция Caspian Ports & Shipping 2025. Мероприятие было организовано международной компанией Transport Events Management Limited совместно с АО «НК «Актауский морской торговый порт». Международная ассоциация «Транскаспийский международный транспортный маршрут» (Ассоциация ТМТМ) выступила официальным стратегическим партнёром мероприятия.

Основной целью проведения выставки и конференции стало освещение возможностей транспортной инфраструктуры Каспийского региона и повышение его транзитного потенциала.

Торжественное открытие конференции состоялось при участии исполняющего обязанности Председателя Правления АО «НК «Актауский морской торговый порт» Даурена Кутпанбаева.

В числе ключевых тем конференции были рассмотрены стратегическая роль Транскаспийского маршрута в развитии инфраструктуры и международных партнёрств, вопросы энергоэффективности и перехода к низкоуглеродной экономике, интеграция автомобильных, железнодорожных и морских маршрутов в Каспийском регионе, а также основные тенденции торговли и транспортных потоков между Азией и Европой.

В рамках сессии «Middle Corridor: достижения Актауского хаба в 2025 году и перспективы на 2026 год» с докладом выступила исполняющая обязанности Генерального секретаря Ассоциации ТМТМ Нургуль Жакупова. По окончании церемонии открытия участники конференции посетили стенд Ассоциации ТМТМ, где ознакомились с текущей деятельностью и перспективами развития маршрута ТМТМ.

В мероприятии приняли участие порядка 100 представителей железнодорожных, морских, транспортных и логистических компаний, государственных органов, ведущих грузоотправителей региона, а также поставщиков портового оборудования и представителей других сфер бизнеса.

Кроме того, 9 декабря 2025 года, за день до начала конференции, участники мероприятия совершили технические визиты в порты Актау и Курык, в ходе которых детально ознакомились с портовой инфраструктурой.

TITR Association Working Group Meeting Held in Ankara

On 4–5 December 2025, the regular meeting of the Working Group of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR Association) was held in Ankara.

During the meeting, members of the TITR Association Working Group reviewed the report on the Association’s activities for the first ten months of 2025 and noted an increase in transportation volumes along the TITR route compared to the same period in 2024. Measures to enhance the efficiency of transportation along the TITR route were also agreed upon.

The Working Group participants additionally approved the tariff rates for cargo transportation along the TITR route for 2026. Discussed prospective projects and reviewed agreements aimed at the further development of the TITR route.

Заседание Рабочей группы Ассоциации ТМТМ состоялось в Анкаре

4–5 декабря 2025 года в Анкаре проведено очередное заседание Рабочей группы Международной ассоциации «Транскаспийский международный транспортный маршрут» (Ассоциация ТМТМ).

В ходе работы заседания участники Рабочей группы Ассоциации ТМТМ заслушали отчет по итогам деятельности Ассоциации за 10 месяцев 2025 года и отметили рост объемов перевозок по маршруту ТМТМ по сравнению с аналогичным периодом 2024 года. Согласовали меры по повышению эффективности перевозок по маршруту ТМТМ.

Участники Рабочей группы также утвердили тарифные ставки перевозок грузов по маршруту ТМТМ на 2026 год. Обсудили перспективные проекты и рассмотрели Соглашения, направленные на развитие маршрута ТМТМ.

The Logitrans International Transport Logistics Exhibition 2025 was held in Istanbul from 19 to 21 November 2025, with the participation of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR Association).

The exhibition is a key platform that brings together potential partners from the logistics industry and contributes to expanding the geography of international freight transportation. According to the organizers, the event gathered around 230 companies from 20 countries, and the number of visitors reached nearly 20,000.

The TITR Association was represented with its stand, where a series of business meetings and negotiations were held with representatives of CRCT, GTAI, Euro Cargo, Logitrans, UTK, and other international organizations.

Visitors to the stand were provided with comprehensive information about the TITR (Middle Corridor), its capabilities, ongoing projects, and future development prospects.

Ассоциация ТМТМ приняла участие в международной выставке Logitrans Turkiye 2025 в Стамбуле

19-21 ноября 2025 года в Стамбуле прошла международная транспортно-логистическая выставка Logitrans International Transport Logistics Exhibition 2025, в которой приняла участие Международная ассоциация «Транскаспийский международный транспортный маршрут» (Ассоциация ТМТМ).

Выставка является важной платформой, объединяющей потенциальных партнеров логистической отрасли и способствующей расширению географии международных грузоперевозок. По данным организаторов, в выставке приняли участие порядка 230 компаний из 20 стран, а число посетителей достигло почти 20 000 человек.

Ассоциация ТМТМ была представлена собственным стендом на выставке, где прошёл ряд деловых встреч и переговоров с представителями компаний CRCT, GTAI, Euro Cargo, Logitrans, UTK и других международных организаций.

Посетителям стенда была предоставлена подробная информация о маршруте ТМТМ (Middle Corridor), его возможностях, текущих проектах и перспективах развития.

Members of the TITR Association participated in the China-Europe Railway Express Cooperation Forum

The 2nd International China–Europe Express Railway Cooperation Forum took place on 18 November 2025 in Xi’an, People’s Republic of China. The event was organized by the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Ministry of Transport of China, the General Administration of Customs of China, China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., and the People’s Government of Shaanxi Province.

Held under the theme “Connecting Asia and Europe for a Shared Future”, the Forum focused on strengthening international cooperation within the China–Europe Railway Express framework, developing innovative logistics routes, expanding the capabilities of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), and enhancing Eurasian land–sea intermodal corridors.

The Forum was opened by Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council of China. In his keynote speech, he emphasized China’s commitment to deepen cooperation with partner countries, preserve the spirit of the Silk Road, and advance the development of the China–Europe Railway Express to a new level. Senior officials, prominent political figures from China and abroad, and representatives of international organizations also delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. The event gathered approximately 450 participants, including experts, scholars, business leaders, government officials, and representatives of international institutions.

During the plenary session, Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC /Chairman of the Management Board of the ALE IA TITR delivered a presentation. He noted that the development of the China–Europe Railway Express, including the TITR route, is receiving significant attention from the leadership of Kazakhstan and China. According to him, the route’s advancement aligns with the strategic interests of the countries along the corridor and contributes to sustainable trade growth and economic development across the region.

The Forum featured 3 parallel thematic sessions, in which delegations from member companies of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (TITR Association) took an active part.
At the sub-forum “Efficient and Safe Transport”, presentations were delivered by Arif Agayev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and Erlan Koyshibaev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC.
At the sub-forum “Development of Diversified Channels”, Mamuka Talakhadze, Deputy Director of Freight Transportation at Georgian Railway JSC, served as a speaker.
At the sub-forum “Innovation and Integrated Development”, Yeong Wee Tan, CEO of Global DTC Pte Ltd presented his vision for advancing digital solutions along the route.

Following the Forum, a multilateral meeting was held between Mr. Ye Niuping, Mayor of Xi’an, and the heads of delegations from TITR Association members — NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Georgian Railway JSC, TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. JSC, and the Executive Body of the TITR Association. The meeting addressed issues related to improving transport efficiency, increasing container traffic volumes, and exploring further development opportunities for the TITR route.

On 19 November, as part of the Forum, the “Trans-Caspian Logistics Corridor Conference 2025 (TCLC)” was held, co-organized by Beijing New SilkRoad Broadway Events Co., Ltd. and the TITR Association. Speakers representing the TITR Association included Saut Shynybayev, Deputy Secretary General of the TITR Association, Madina Anet, Business Development Director of Semurg Invest, Arsen Iskakov, Sales Director of Global DTC Pte Ltd, Edil Elibayev, Business Development Manager of Grampet Group GP Intermodal, Bauyrzhan Toksanov, Senior Specialist of the Commercial Fleet Operations Department at NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP.

For the TITR Association delegation, B2B meetings were organized with Chinese logistics platforms and cargo shippers to strengthen partnerships and promote the TITR route.
