With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, the Honorary Consulate General of Nepal in Beirut – Lebanon, together with Honorary Consul General Mr. Elcheikh Mohamed Wissam Ghouzayel, mourn the passing of:

Ms. Saru Gurung

who passed away after battling cancer.

Saru was among the most dedicated, active, and sincere members of the Nepali community in Lebanon. She devoted much of her time and efforts to supporting fellow Nepalese, serving her community, and assisting many people with kindness, generosity, and compassion.

She was known for her noble character, humility, humanity, and deep love for her homeland Nepal and its people. She always stood as an example of dedication, loyalty, and selfless service.

Her sudden departure leaves behind deep sadness and pain in our hearts. However, her beautiful memories, noble actions, and sincere contributions to the Nepali diaspora and community will forever remain alive in our hearts and minds.

We extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to her family, relatives, friends, and all members of the Nepali community.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

उहाँको क्यान्सरसँगको संघर्षपछि दुःखद निधन भएको छ।

सारु गुरुङ लेबनानस्थित नेपाली समुदायका अत्यन्त सक्रिय, समर्पित र इमानदार सदस्यहरूमध्ये एक हुनुहुन्थ्यो। उहाँले आफ्नो धेरै समय नेपाली समुदाय, आफ्ना देशवासीहरू तथा आवश्यक परेकाहरूको सहयोगमा समर्पित गर्नुभएको थियो।

उहाँ आफ्नो राम्रो चरित्र, नम्रता, मानवता, मातृभूमिप्रतिको प्रेम र समुदायप्रतिको सेवाभावका लागि परिचित हुनुहुन्थ्यो। उहाँ सधैं समर्पण, निष्ठा र सेवाको उदाहरण हुनुहुन्थ्यो।

उहाँको अकाल निधनले हामी सबैलाई गहिरो दुःख र पीडा दिएको छ। तर उहाँका राम्रा सम्झनाहरू, महान कार्यहरू, र समुदायप्रतिको योगदान सधैं हाम्रो मनमा जीवित रहनेछन्।

हामी उहाँको परिवार, आफन्त, साथीभाइ तथा सम्पूर्ण नेपाली समुदायप्रति हार्दिक समवेदना व्यक्त गर्दछौं।

التي وافتها المنية بشكل مفاجئ بعد صراع مع مرض السرطان.

لقد كانت الفقيدة من أكثر أبناء الجالية النيبالية في لبنان إخلاصاً وتفانياً، ومن الشخصيات الفاعلة والمخلصة التي كرّست وقتها وجهدها لخدمة أبناء جاليتها ووطنها الأم، وكانت دائماً حاضرة في مختلف المبادرات الإنسانية والاجتماعية، وقدّمت الكثير من المساعدة والدعم لأبناء الجالية وللقنصلية على حد سواء.

لقد عُرفت المرحومة بأخلاقها الرفيعة، وتواضعها الكبير، وإنسانيتها النبيلة، وحبها العميق لوطنها نيبال وأهلها، وكانت مثالاً حقيقياً للإخلاص والعطاء والتضحية وخدمة الآخرين.

إن رحيلها المفاجئ ترك في قلوبنا جميعاً حزناً عميقاً وألماً كبيراً لا يمكن وصفه، لكن ذكراها الطيبة، وأعمالها النبيلة، ومواقفها الإنسانية المشرفة ستبقى خالدة في قلوبنا، ولن ننساها مهما طال الزمن.

تستنكر القنصلية الفخرية لجمهورية نيبال في لبنان الحادث المؤسف الذي طال قوات حفظ السلام التابعة للأمم المتحدة في جنوب لبنان وأدى إلى سقوط ضحية وإصابة آخرين.
وتتقدم القنصلية بأحر التعازي، وتتمنى الشفاء العاجل للمصابين، مؤكدة تضامنها الكامل مع قوات حفظ السلام وداعية إلى احترام سلامتها وتمكينها من أداء مهامها في حفظ الأمن والاستقرار.

Statement issued by the Honorary Consulate General of Nepal in Lebanon

The Honorary Consulate General of Nepal in Lebanon expresses its strong condemnation of the unfortunate incident that targeted United Nations peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon, resulting in casualties and injuries among their personnel.

Any attack against peacekeeping forces while carrying out their duties constitutes a serious violation of the principles underpinning the United Nations’ mission to maintain peace and stability, and undermines the safety of those serving under challenging and sensitive conditions.

The Consulate extends its deepest condolences to the family of the victim and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured. It also reaffirms its full solidarity with all UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon and calls for ensuring their safety and security, enabling them to fulfill their humanitarian and security responsibilities without threat.

The Consulate further emphasizes the importance of preserving stability in southern Lebanon and supporting international efforts aimed at maintaining peace and protecting lives.
