The Project Implementation Unit within the Ministry of Health has the responsibility for project implementation.

Projects being managed under this unit is the Health Systems Strengthening Project & the OECS Regional Health Project.

It was indeed a special moment for the Millennium Heights Medical Complex as they received a mammography machine which was made possible through the Health System Strengthening Project (HSSP). The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs recognized the importance of this equipment to the hospital in ensuring they provide breast cancer screening to their clients and ensure early detection.

As part of observing National Stress Awareness Month in April, the staff of the Delcer Wellness Centre got the opportunity to participate in a mental health workshop. The workshop was aimed at providing staff members with the knowledge on how to cope with stress at work and home; how to cope with people who may be mentally ill and an understanding of the strategies to help clients cope with the stress of managing diseases such as Diabetes and Hypertension. The workshop was facilitated by Social Worker, Leafa Emmanue. This workshop took place at the Delcer Wellness Centre.

The Micoud Wellness Centre recently hosted a Diabetes (DM) and Hypertension (HTN) seminar for its clients during it DM/ HTN clinic. The seminar is expected to help the clients to better cope and live with the diseases.

The activity entailed lectures from Nutritionist Francillia Joseph who educated the clients on the changes to their diet as they live with Diabetes and/or Hypertension and Public Health Nursing Supervisor for Region 4 Nurse Persia Adjodha spoke on steps towards self-care. PBF Field Officer Vanetta Joseph took the opportunity to educate and sensitize the participants on the PBF and the services available.

Participants also got to win tokens such as water bottles, shopping bags, hand towels, pens, etc. at the activity.

During the Diabetic and Hypertensive clinic at the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre, clients received an educational talk on healthy eating for persons with Diabetes and Hypertension. The talk was facilitated by Nutritionist, Francillia Joseph. The clients also benefited from one-on-one session with the nutritionist.

The Performance-Based Financing (PBF) services were brought to the people of Anse La Raye following an outreach and screening activity. Individuals got to receive screening and treatment services for Diabetes and Hypertension.

Bus drivers from La Croix Maingot got the opportunity to check their health status following an outreach and screening activity. During this activity, the bus drivers were able to access the services of PBF and get screened for Diabetes and Hypertension.
