The Saint Lucia Fire Service successfully conducted a fire evacuation drill with the St. Aloysius R.C. Boys' School, as part of Fire Prevention Week which began from the 6th to the 12th of October. The drill aimed to enhance the school's preparedness for emergencies and reinforce safety protocols among students, staff, and administration.👏👨‍🚒

The drill involved a simulated fire scenario, prompting a swift and orderly evacuation of the entire school building. Students and staff followed designated evacuation routes and assembled at the designated assembly point. The Fire Service personnel were on-site to oversee the drill and provide guidance.🚒🚨🧯

An effective evacuation plan is crucial for ensuring the safety of individuals in the event of a fire or other emergencies. By regularly practicing drills and maintaining a well-defined plan, we can significantly reduce the risk of injuries and fatalities.✍️

Join the Saint Lucia Fire Service in raising awareness during Fire Prevention Week! This year, we’re focusing on the importance of fire safety at home and in our communities.

1. Check Your Smoke Alarms: Ensure they’re working and replace batteries if needed.

2. Create an Escape Plan: Have a clear plan and practice it with your family.

3. Stay Aware: Always keep an eye on cooking and heating devices.

4. Educate Your Community: Share fire safety tips with your friends and neighbors.

🚨 Smoke Alarm Initiative in Saint Lucia! 🚨

Attention, Saint Lucia! Our dedicated fire officers are on a mission to keep our communities safe with the ongoing Smoke Alarm Initiative. Launched on September 11th, we’ve already installed 50 smoke alarms in the Castries East constituency, specifically in the Marchand community.

But we’re just getting started! Our team is excited to move into other constituencies, ensuring that every home is equipped with the necessary tools to prevent fire hazards and protect our loved ones.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service is inviting all secondary schools to participate in our banner competition. The winning banner will be featured during the fire service motorcade and will serve as the theme for Fire Prevention Week.
