The Girls in ICT event, hosted annually by the USFO, was designed to empower young women and girls to take active roles in the digital economy. This year’s theme, ‘Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation’, emphasized the importance of an inclusive digital transformation—where women were not only participants but leaders shaping the future of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
The event provided a platform for participants to engage with influential women in tech and other industries, gain valuable skills, and be inspired to pursue digital careers and use technology to enhance their lives, especially through social media.
In an ever-evolving technological landscape, the event addressed the critical need for gender equality and inclusivity in digital spaces. Its goal was to help close the gender gap in ICT by offering young women access to resources, mentorship, and the inspiration needed to thrive in the digital world. By showcasing successful female leaders and entrepreneurs, the event highlighted the vast opportunities available to women in tech and encouraged the next generation of digital innovators.
