The Western Province Tourist Board established on the 5th of March 2010 under the Tourist Board statute No.03 of 1994. Objectives:
• The development of the infrastructure facilities connected to locations of tourist attraction in the Western Province.
• Conducting promotional activities both locally and internationally to highlight places of tourist attraction.
• Development of human resources in the field of tourism by conducting awareness programmes.

Dear Travel Agents,

The Western Province Tourist Board is pleased to invite you to the official Product Launch & FAM Tour of the Attanagalla-Alawala Sustainable Tourism Village, which will be held on 22nd March 2026.

The Attanagalla-Alawala Sustainable Tourism Village has been envisioned as a model destination that integrates environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community-based economic development.

The initiative aims to create an authentic rural tourism experience while ensuring that tourism development remains responsible, inclusive, and beneficial to the local community.

Through this FAM Tour, participants will have the opportunity to experience a diverse range of nature-based, cultural, adventure, and wellness activities, including wilderness camping, village hopping & homestays, cycling tours, canoeing and kayaking, hiking and trekking, bird watching, prehistoric cave exploration, plantation tours, traditional craft workshops, agro-tourism experiences, and spiritual nature trails.

The product launch will introduce this unique tourism initiative to tourism stakeholders, travel professionals, media representatives, and partners, while highlighting the sustainable tourism potential of the Attanagalla region.

Transportation:
Transportation will be arranged for participants. The coach will depart from Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo at 7.00 a.m. and will return to the same location at approximately 7.30 p.m.
