✨❤️HANDS OF HOPE – Successfully Completed! 🤍✨
We are proud to share the successful completion of Hands of Hope organized by G17 KDU. 💫
With the support and generosity of many kind hearts, we were able to contribute essential school items for 40 students from the flood-affected Hanwella area, helping bring comfort, dignity, and hope to young lives in need 🌱🎒
🌱Through this campaign, donations were collected for:

✔️ White/Black socks
✔️ Essential Sanitary products

Our G17 Ambassadors in Action!😎
Through Project “True Cost of Care” by G17 - KDU, we educated the community on the hidden financial and emotional burden of non-communicable diseases and the importance of early care.
A virtual survey was conducted among healthcare users, awareness activities were carried out at Dr. Kalyani Edirisinghe’s Medical Center, Heenkenda, Ragama. The findings contributed to the research project “Understanding the Cost of Free Healthcare in Sri Lanka: Promoting Responsible Utilization of Resources.” 💙🩺

Our Ambassadors in Action!🌊🌱
The “Coast for Tomorrow – Hands Together for a Clean Shore” beach cleaning project was successfully organized by G17 KDU at Mount Lavinia Beach on 15th February 2026. Youth volunteers united to remove plastic and solid waste, raise awareness about coastal conservation, and promote sustainable practices for a healthier shoreline.
A huge thank you to all participants, partners, and supporters for making this initiative a success! Together, we are protecting our beaches and empowering communities for a cleaner tomorrow.

Microplastic Awareness Program on Soil Health was successfully conducted by G17 UAC South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, under SDG 4: Quality Education.🌱🔬
The program educated BST students of K/L Zahira College about the environmental impact of microplastic pollution on soil health through an interactive and awareness-based learning experience.
What was achieved:
- Increased awareness of microplastic pollution and its environmental effects.
- Explained the impact of microplastics on soil, ecosystems, and human health.
- Encouraged environmental responsibility and sustainable thinking among students.
- Promoted scientific learning through discussions and awareness activities.

The SEUSL Green Heritage Project was successfully conducted by G17 South Eastern University of Sri Lanka under SDG 15: Life on Land.
The initiative introduced a campus-wide digital tree inventory with QR-coded trees.🌳
What was achieved:
- Transformed hidden tree data into an interactive learning experience .
- Calculated carbon stock, CO₂ captured, and oxygen produced by our trees.
- Created unique Ecological Superpowers (e.g., Banyan = Living Forest, Neem = Nature’s Pharmacy)
This initiative directly contributes to *SDG 15: Life on Land* by promoting biodiversity awareness and sustainable campus management.
