හයිටි රාජ්‍යයේ ක්‍රියාත්මක විශේෂ කල්ලි මර්දන බලකා (Gang Suppression Force) මෙහෙයුම් සඳහා දායක වීමට නියමිත, අභීත පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය බලකා සහ පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් 185 දෙනෙකු වෙත උපදෙස් ලබා දී ආශීර්වාද පිරිනැමීම 2026 ඔක්තෝබර් 06 වන දින සවස කටුකුරුන්ද පොලිස් විශේෂ කාර්ය බලකා පුහුණු පාසලේදී, පොලිස්පති ප්‍රියන්ත වීරසූරිය මහතාගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් අතිශය අභිමානවත් අයුරින් සිදු කෙරිණි.පොලිස්පතිතුමන්ගේ ප්‍රධානත්වයෙන් පැවති මෙම උත්සවයේදී, විශේෂ කාර්ය බලකායේ වීර පුතුන් විසින් එතුමන් වෙත අභිමානවත් සම්මාන පෙළපාලියක් පුද කරන ලද අතර, ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමේ දැවැන්ත මෙහෙයුමකට දායක වන මෙම දූත පිරිස සමඟ එතුමා අනුස්මරණීය සමූහ ඡායාරූපයකටද පෙනී සිටියේය.

මෙම අභීත කණ්ඩායම සඳහා විශේෂ කාර්ය බලකායේ දක්ෂ නිලධාරීන් 174 දෙනෙකු සහ පොලිස් වෛද්‍ය කොට්ඨාසයේ වෛද්‍යවරුන් 02 දෙනෙකු ඇතුළු පොලිස් නිලධාරීන් 11 දෙනෙකු ඇතුළත් වේ. මොවුන් කණ්ඩායම් තුනක් යටතේ (කණ්ඩායම් 02ක් මෙම මස තුළදී සහ තවත් කණ්ඩායමක් නොවැම්බර් මාසයේදී) හයිටි රාජ්‍යය බලා පිටත්ව යාමට නියමිතය.

🇱🇰 IGP Extends Proud Wishes to 185 STF and Police Officers Deploying for Specialized Gang Suppression Force Duties in Haiti! ✨

On the evening of October 6, 2026, at the Katukurunda Police Special Task Force (STF) Training School, Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya extended his instructions and blessings to a brave contingent of 185 STF and police officers preparing to deploy for specialized Gang Suppression Force operations in Haiti.
During the ceremony held under the patronage of the IGP, the valiant personnel of the STF presented a proud guard of honor, and the IGP posed for a commemorative group photograph with this elite contingent as they gear up for high-stakes international security operations.
This courageous contingent comprises 174 skilled STF personnel and 11 police officers, including 2 medical doctors from the Police Medical Division. They are scheduled to deploy to Haiti in three batches (two batches this month and the final batch in November).

Swift action by the lifesaving personnel of the Sri Lanka Special Task Force (STF) Arugam Bay camp successfully rescued five individuals—including two males and three females aged between 19 and 31 from Angoda—who were in danger while bathing at the Arugam Bay Ulla beach. The victims were promptly provided with initial first aid and directed to the relevant authorities for further care. Ensuring public safety along the Arugam Bay coastal stretch, the STF Lifesaving Unit has successfully saved a large number of precious human lives over the past period, rendering an exemplary service.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසියේ විශේෂ කාර්ය බලකාය (STF), 85 වන ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිස් අන්තර්-කොට්ඨාස මලල ක්‍රීඩා ශූරතාවලියේ සමස්ත ශූරතාව දිනා ගනිමින් කීර්තිමත් 'ජනාධිපති අභියෝගතා කුසලානය' හිමිකර ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
දිවයින පුරා විසිරී ඇති පොලිස් කොට්ඨාස 69ක් නියෝජනය කරමින් ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන් 4,000කට ආසන්න සංඛ්‍යාවක් සහභාගී වූ මෙම ශූරතාවලිය, 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 25 සිට 27 දක්වා බම්බලපිටිය පිහිටි ක්ෂේත්‍ර බලකා මූලස්ථාන පොලිස් ක්‍රීඩාංගණයේදී පැවැත්විණි.

STF Crowned Overall Champions at the 85th Sri Lanka Police Inter-Divisional Athletic Championship
The Special Task Force (STF) of the Sri Lanka Police emerged as the Overall Champions of the 85th Sri Lanka Police Inter-Divisional Athletic Championship, securing the prestigious President’s Challenge Trophy.
The championship was held from 25 to 27 September 2026 at the Field Force Police Grounds, Bambalapitiya, bringing together nearly 4,000 male and female athletes representing 69 Police Divisions from across the island.
The three-day event was conducted in a highly competitive yet disciplined atmosphere, showcasing the athletic talent, determination and sporting excellence of personnel of the Sri Lanka Police. The outstanding performance of the STF athletes throughout the championship enabled the Force to secure the overall championship and claim the prestigious President’s Challenge Trophy.
The closing ceremony was graced by Hon. Ananda Wijepala, Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs; Hon. Sunil Watagala, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Ravi Seneviratne, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security; and Mr. Priyantha Weerasooriya, Inspector General of Police. The ceremony was also attended by senior officers of the Sri Lanka Police and the Special Task Force.
The achievement reflects the high standards of discipline, physical fitness, dedication and competitive spirit maintained by the personnel of the Special Task Force.
