70th Colombo Scout Group

10th Sri Lanka National Scout Jamboree - 2024 was held from 19th February 2024 to 26th February 2024 at Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.

Colombo Scouts conducted the District Ifthar Programme 2023 on 19th April 2023 at Al-Hidhaya College, Colombo 10.

The District Ifthar Programme was successfully organized by 77th Colombo Zindabad Scout Group together with 70th Colombo Hidhaya Scout Group.

Deputy Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scout Association Mr. M.F.S. Muheed graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and The President of Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Scout Association - Colombo District Branch Mr. M.C.A. Zarook graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor.

The Programme was started with Quirath following the National Anthem. Group Scout Leader of 77th Colombo Scout Group Mr. Mohamed Thaha delivered the welcome speech following that the District Commissioner Mr. Amil Abesundara addressed the gathering. Then the Programme was filled with some Qaseedahs and Islamic Songs. The Guest Speech was given by Chief Guest, Deputy Chief Commissioner Mr. M.F.S. Muheed. Finally the Bayan, the spiritual advices were given by Hazarath. After the breaking fast the event organizer and the Assistant District Commissioner Mr. A.A.C.M. Shabeen delivered the vote of thanks.

Assistant District Commissioners, District Scout Leaders, Scout Leaders and Scouts from several Groups were participated at the District Ifthar Programme.

Moreover, the District Commissioner Mr. Amil Abesundara, Assistant District Commissioner-Admin Mr. Arun Pragash, Assistant District Commissioner-Programme Mr. Geeth Ramesh, Assistant District Commissioner-Cub Ms. Chandrika Abesundara, Assistant District Commissioner-Singithi Ms. Himali Mendis, Assistant District Commissioner Mr. P. Rajarathnam, Assistant District Commissioner Mr. Irshad Razzak, Assistant District Commissioner Mr. Sampath Wijesinghe, The Principal of Al-Hidhaya College Mr. M.N.M. Nihar, The Principal of TB Jayah Zahira College Mr. Mohamed Manzil were graced the occasion.

70th Colombo Scout Group participated actively at 57th Colombo Camporee held from 2nd February to 6th February 2023 at Viharamahadevi Park.

All the scouts were won the Activity award by passing the Skill-O-Rama moreover, we won the 2nd Runner Up at Volleyball tournament conducted at 57th Colombo Camporee.

70th Colombo Scouts gathered today, 29th January 2023 at Al-Hidhaya College for 57th Colombo Camporee preparations.

New year celebration !!!

Office Bearers of new PLC - 2023 with the Scout Leader celebrated the new year.

On 01st January 2023, we had this celebration starting with enjoying the ‘Avatar - way to the water’ 3D movie and had some good time at Zahira College Swimming Pool.

Scouting Spirit lights up the City of Colombo with a massive Scout Walk & a Gathering

70th Colombo Scout Group was participated at the 110 years of Scouting in Sri Lanka celebration.

Streets of Colombo were colored with happy and excited faces of Colombo Scouts yesterday as the Colombo Scouts Celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Sri Lankan Scouting took place at the heart of Colombo. Over 8000 Cub, Junior, Senior & Rover Scouts as well as Adult Leaders, Past Scouts, Parents & Well-wishers attended the celebration.

The proceedings started with a Scout Walk which took off from near the Scout Statue at Viharamahadevi Park at 3.15 p.m. under the patronage of Asst. Chief Commissioner of Sri Lanka Scouts, Mr. Srilath De Silva which walked down the Galle Road with Scout Cheer, Music and Poster Display to arrive at the Galle Face Green by 4.30 p.m. The participants enjoyed the Model Campsite and Activities at GFG until the Public Grand Campfire started at 7.00 p.m., which wrapped up the celebration.

9 Cub, Junior and Senior Scouts were awarded exclusive Merit Badges by the Sri Lanka Scout Association for the best Posters displayed at the Walk and 150 of the participants had the fortune of minting Sri Lanka’s First NFT Scout Badge to their name based on a Decoding Activity.

We as a part of Al Hidhaya College - Colombo, gave our fullest support to project “Healthy City” a free medical camp series organized by Zulu Rovers on 13th November 2022 at our school premises.

70th Colombo Scout Group celebrates its 6th Year Anniversary today, 15th October 2022 at Al-Hidhaya College, Colombo-10 with Hidhaya Scouts and Leaders.
