At the 29th Battle of the Kings Under 20 Inter-School International Rated Chess Championship held on 24th, 25th & 26th April at Royal College, the talented chess team of Visakha Vidyalaya emerged as the Champions in the Girls’ Category!

G.C.E A/L Felicitation Ceremony 2026

G.C.E A/L Felicitation Ceremony of Visakha Vidyalaya was held on 29th March 2026 at the school premises. 💙

The occasion was dedicated to appreciating the hardworking teachers whose commitment and guidance contributed to the excellent academic achievements of the school, while also honouring the students who proudly achieved 3As at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination. 🌟

Visakha Vidyalaya proudly represented Sri Lanka at the 7th World Cultural Heritage Youth Symposium 2026 held in Athens, Greece.

Our Madam Principal, Mrs. Manomi Senevirathne, together with 18 Visakhians participated in this prestigious international program organized by the Hellenic Cultural and Educational Club for UNESCO. The symposium provided an excellent platform for cultural exchange, global friendship, and learning experiences centered on world cultural heritage.

We congratulate our Principal and students for representing Visakha Vidyalaya and Sri Lanka with pride and excellence on the international stage. 💙💛

Sports Meet 2026 💙💛

The Sports Meet 2026 of Visakha Vidyalaya was held on 23rd March 2026 at the Police Grounds, Colombo 04, with great enthusiasm, teamwork, and the true Visakhian spirit.

We were deeply honoured to welcome IGP Priyantha Weerasooriya as the Chief Guest, SDIG Sanjeewa Dissanayake as the Special Guest, and Mrs. Krishani George, a distinguished past Visakhian and representative of the Sri Lanka National Basketball Team, as the Guest of Honour.

The day was filled with energy, determination, and outstanding performances, reflecting the strength, discipline, and unity of our Visakhians.

Swimming Meet 2026 💙💛

Visakha Vidyalaya proudly celebrated its Swimming Meet 2026 on 12th March at the school swimming pool with great enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and the true spirit of unity.

We were deeply honoured to have two distinguished past Visakhians with us on this special day. Ms. N. K. Samarakoon, Senior Executive – Product Development – Life Operations at Softlogic Life Insurance PLC, graced the event as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Gayani Silva, Director of Wilton Metal Box Co. (Pvt) Ltd, joined us as the Guest of Honour.

Their presence added immense pride and inspiration to this memorable occasion.

The Swimming Meet was not only a celebration of athletic excellence but also a beautiful reflection of discipline, teamwork, and the enduring Visakhian spirit.
